Yeah, we know, but considering de 100/300M predictions last night and all the "it's a family movie, it's Marvel so it won't be froant-loaded, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread" crap and how it was gonna beat Trans4ormers it's nice to rub it in a little.

But Godzilla made 32M on Sat, it's Friday being 38.4M and with a 9.3M midnight. So without peviews it's number still is 29.1 vs 26.6 of GOTG. Even if it gets a stronger increase I think it would still fall short.

It would only need to open to around 50M (even 48 would do I think). Not that much to ask for. I thought TMTN were popular in the US.

Right now, GOTG is the only new one. We'll see what Marvel does with Ant-Man next year, and what WB does with BvS in 2016 and then what's with WW and the others.

The last one was Green Lantern so, I don't see any other new comic book franchises (I may be wrong). Unless you're refering to MOS which is kinda dumb considering it made more than all SH movies this year.
