Not sure why but screen count and showtimes were slashed in my area. Genuinely don’t know why, because they’re giving extra screens to Hindi films that aren’t pulling any business, and Canadian movies like All My Puny Sorrows and Peace By Chocolate (good films, but do they REALLY think they’re going to make any money next to Dr Strange?)

How Many Movies Have You Seen in Theaters in 2022?

Clearly you’re just doing your whole negative shtick again, because this makes absolutely zero sense. Theaters don’t care about what the production budget of a movie is. Did it bring in crowds? Yes or no. Morbius brought in a fair size crowd for its opening weekend, EEAAO is an indie beast for theaters that play those sort of films. Sonic was a huge opener, Beasts still brought in money, and Bad Guys is making for very very steady matinees. And then you have things like The Northman which play well in the right markets/late evenings to balance it all out. No, this has been a VERY good April for movie theaters. I have no clue what you’re talking about.

Bad Guys definitely doing 25M. Matinee pre-sales are INSANE around here, and I have no doubt that walk-ups will be strong too. Only thing genuinely holding it back is the fact that it will see multiple sell-outs, and there aren't enough screens to accommodate. Northman is a beast locally (again, same market that treated Green Knight as a summer blockbuster so take that for what you will). 4th biggest previews of 2022 here behind Batman, Beasts, and Uncharted. Unbearable Weight pretty much played 10-15% ahead of Ambulance across the board here last night. Doesn't bode super well, but WOM should be good on this. Will have a long shelf life on VOD/cable and streaming.

How many theatres is Unbearable Weight playing in tonight? Can't imagine it's too too many. -

Whoever runs Lionsgate's tik tok account is far more talented than the entire rest of their marketing team unfortunately. -
I just want to iterate that my earlier comment is not me defending Miller, or thinking they should be defended etc. I really think there must be something really troubling in their life that is triggering this sort of continued behaviour, whether it be an ongoing issue or something completely different. I really hope they do seek and receive whatever treatment helps them change as a person.

2022 Box Office Predictions and Discussion
DAJK replied to Eric Quinn's topic in Box Office Discussion
Nope I see having a similar run to Us imo. Maybe smaller opening/better legs, but a total around the same (175). -

Northman selling pretty well locally, doubling the other two openers’ sales combined. But then again, I live in a city that treated Green Knight like a legit blockbuster.
