  1. FWIW, the various locations I'm tracking in Canada are mostly suggesting 34M Thursday. But one outlier is playing at 40M Thursday... so who knows lol.
  2. Lol someone at my screening shouted during the first post credits scene ”Fuck me Michelle Pfeiffer looks really different here!”
  3. Not sure why but screen count and showtimes were slashed in my area. Genuinely don’t know why, because they’re giving extra screens to Hindi films that aren’t pulling any business, and Canadian movies like All My Puny Sorrows and Peace By Chocolate (good films, but do they REALLY think they’re going to make any money next to Dr Strange?)
  4. Weird that Memory is below Blacklight. It’s been outpacing it pretty much everywhere I looked by a healthy margin.
  5. January The Tragedy of Macbeth Licorice Pizza The King's Man The Matrix: Resurrections American Underdog The 355 Scream Nightmare Alley February Blacklight Marry Me Death on the Nile Uncharted Parallel Mothers The Worst Person in the World Cyrano Dog March Cyrano Spider-Man: No Way Home The Batman The Batman X The Wolf and the Lion The Outfit The Batman The Lost City Morbius April Sonic 2 Everything Everywhere All At Once Morbius Ambulance Fantastic Beasts - The Secrets of Dumbledore Uncharted The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent Charlotte All My Puny Sorrows Total: 35
  6. Clearly you’re just doing your whole negative shtick again, because this makes absolutely zero sense. Theaters don’t care about what the production budget of a movie is. Did it bring in crowds? Yes or no. Morbius brought in a fair size crowd for its opening weekend, EEAAO is an indie beast for theaters that play those sort of films. Sonic was a huge opener, Beasts still brought in money, and Bad Guys is making for very very steady matinees. And then you have things like The Northman which play well in the right markets/late evenings to balance it all out. No, this has been a VERY good April for movie theaters. I have no clue what you’re talking about.
  7. Back to JW, I remember the week before Fallen Kingdom opened, people were predicting as low as 100M weekend for it. Presales weren’t the best, but then walk-up business was insane. I feel like JWD will be similar, just slightly bigger numbers. 170/500
  8. Not that I don't enjoy being on BOT these days (although the pandemic has caused us to lose some traffic and users), the site definitely used to feel more like a community around 2015-2017. You never get stuff like The Ballad of John-C-Nah these days.
  9. Because 40 years later, Top Gun is more remembered for the action and the “bros stick together” sort of crowd than it is for the romance. It would be like making a Titanic sequel about Bill Paxton’s character; sure it was an important bookend for the movie, but nobody actually cares about it.
  10. Bad Guys definitely doing 25M. Matinee pre-sales are INSANE around here, and I have no doubt that walk-ups will be strong too. Only thing genuinely holding it back is the fact that it will see multiple sell-outs, and there aren't enough screens to accommodate. Northman is a beast locally (again, same market that treated Green Knight as a summer blockbuster so take that for what you will). 4th biggest previews of 2022 here behind Batman, Beasts, and Uncharted. Unbearable Weight pretty much played 10-15% ahead of Ambulance across the board here last night. Doesn't bode super well, but WOM should be good on this. Will have a long shelf life on VOD/cable and streaming.
  11. How many theatres is Unbearable Weight playing in tonight? Can't imagine it's too too many.
  12. Whoever runs Lionsgate's tik tok account is far more talented than the entire rest of their marketing team unfortunately.
  13. I just want to iterate that my earlier comment is not me defending Miller, or thinking they should be defended etc. I really think there must be something really troubling in their life that is triggering this sort of continued behaviour, whether it be an ongoing issue or something completely different. I really hope they do seek and receive whatever treatment helps them change as a person.
  14. Nope I see having a similar run to Us imo. Maybe smaller opening/better legs, but a total around the same (175).
  15. This site is genuinely the only place I've seen any of this controversy discussing miller in a negative light. Everything on tik tok/twitter I've seen today is defending them pretty hard.
  16. Northman selling pretty well locally, doubling the other two openers’ sales combined. But then again, I live in a city that treated Green Knight like a legit blockbuster.
  17. FWIW, in Canada for next weekend, the best-preselling new release is Bad Guys, followed by Northman, followed by Unbearable Weight.
  18. I'm so excited for this. Would be so nice to get 2 comedy breakouts within a month of each other. Hoping for 20M, but expecting 10.
  19. Honestly, I'm not sure why the Potter fans wouldn't be happy with this series wrapping up as a four-part HBO Max miniseries as opposed to a final movie. More time for storytelling, more time to delve into the characters and their relationships, something which the movies have been lacking.
