I completely agree. Narration was annoying and undermined the comedy. The movie went downhill from the opening act, and it's frustrating that almost all the funniest moments are in the trailer.
Minions really comes down to - if you like silent comedy and slapstick then you will love it, if you don't like silent comedy then you probably won't enjoy it. There is nothing in the way of character or story in the film, it's more like a 90 minute standup routine. It's really funny so I don't see the problem with the minions not being great protagonists in a movie.
I always get Sleeping with the Enemy confused with that Robert Redford movie... the titles are confusing.
Sleeping is a fucking scary movie. I had nightmares for a many weeks after seeing it.
The only way I can see it being 75 minutes long is if you exclude the narrated opening. Regardless, I have seen the movie and can categorically say that the credits are not 15 minutes long.
I don't see how the film could possibly be 75 minutes when full runtime is 91 mins. It does not have 15 minutes of credits. I don't know how anyone could say it feels like a direct-to-TV movie given the animation quality (some of the scenes in the history timeline at the start are really impressive in particular). Each to their own though.
In the UK, Minions OW was down significantly from DM2 OW, which is why I'm keeping my predictions for US conservative. UK & US play very similarly when it comes to blockbusters.
Night at the Museum was good.
I agree that Black needs to get more great movies, he's such a tremendous actor and screen presence. It's depressing seeing my favourite actor get stuck in so much rubbish. I still need to see D Train though.
It doesn't really make a lot of sense. The US release date of 16 October is just a week before the UK's October half-term holiday, and the UK release date of 5 February is a week before February half-term holiday. They're in the same positions, I don't know why they chose February.
What's the problem with it being a PG family comedy? You guys are strange folk.
Damn, I didn't even notice that - I just checked and it's February 5 (Deadpool weekend)
