  1. Somebody asked me where he/she can follow Time Raiders box office in English. So I did link this site to that forum. But I can't tell two new members here come through that link or not.
  2. I don't expect much since he is still young. I believe he was born in 1993. All I can see is he has some talent related to martial art. As an idol, he was mainly trained on making music, singing and dancing. If he gets martial art training, at least he will be better than his peers. And that kind of drama doesn't need professional martial art actor tbh.
  3. I think the male lead in drama version is fine. I remember I watched his martial art performance on the tv show and he did it pretty good. But for comedy, it would be very hard on him. If audience want to enjoy the show, they shouldn't compare him to legendary Stephen Chow. As you said no one will ever reach his level. Can't imagine how Han Geng's performance. Since he is the only one actor who can do martial art in this movie, I would pretend that he has big role lol. I think the casting need to be more careful.
  4. Great OD for The Lost Tomb LoG is the biggest flop of all time, those huge casts can't save the movie. Wu Jing's martial art movie will release next week. should be a hit? presale is kinda low though.
  5. The most terrible thing is to see Korea K-pop idol who can't speak Chinese to be the main lead in C-drama/movie. Terrible...!
  6. When it comes to Chinese drama/movie, CGI isn't a big deal for me. I think I used to it, bad as always. So I don't mind it at all. I gave up Ice Fantasy after 4 eps. The CGI didn't bother me at all but the plot. It's becoming crazy. I think "The Legend of Chusen" and "Tribes and Empires" have pretty good CGI. It's not on hollywood level but at least it doesn't bother my eyes. To be honest, no one can beat "Nirvana in Fire" to be the best drama on earth.
  7. I don't like him. But you can count him in. He is still a huge star. His recent movie is so bad though. Some original movie did so well tho. And young director is doing better than the old one. Lost in Thailand, Goodbye Mr. Loser, Breakup Buddies, Detective Chinatown,... It depends much on the plot after all. The one you refer to isn't an actor, so bad acting as expected. Despite fantasy genre is being popular in film / drama adaptation, Chinese CGI is still so poor. Chinese fantasy drama always has bad CGI. I can't think of the good one.
  8. There should be Andy Lau, Fan Bingbing, Jackie Chan, Aaron Kwok, Donnie Yen, Eddie Peng, Zhang Hanyu, Wang Baoqiang, Shu Qi, Chen Kun, Bai Baihe, Xu Zheng, Feng Shaofeng, Wu Jing, Zhang Jin, Mark Chao, and my fav Huang Bo and Deng Chao, If count some of the fresh meats Kris, Luhan, Jing Boran, Angelababy, Nini, Lin Gengxin, Li Yifeng, William Chan, Lin Yun,...
  9. I did expect August this year will be higher than July last year but since 2 local movies moved to another month, I only hope it can do more than July this year. Edit : I was thinking July bo 4.5B last year and 3.5B this year Lol. It was 1B less than the actual number. So August won't beat July.
  10. I saw the trailer. It recalls the time, nearly 10 years ago, that I was so addicted to the drama version. I remember FBB also play the nine-tails fox. Now, she re-presents her role again. I grew up watching her dramas but end up looking older than her. She is ageless. This is Li Lianjie coming back after he didn't appear on big screen for years, his latest movie should be The Dragon Inn sequel (2011). LoG is probably his last movie though.
  11. Maybe the cast, plot and action scenes. Ask for CGI, I don't think it's better.
  12. Looks like it will. The production even expects 200M OD. That's ridiculous! That way of marketing really annoys me. After the trailer comes out, it seems like 200M OW instead. Some i-ent media even named it "Chinese X-MEN". China CGI still has a long way to reach that level. The Monkey King 2's CGI is great though. League of Gods may depend on its big name cast rather than the quality imo.
  13. It's JTTW2 not Kris. Since i'm not into K-pop idol, He's nothing to me. I'm just afraid he will drag the movie down.
  14. Damn! Sword Master moves to Dec. A Chinese Odyssey 3 moves to Sep.15 and Call of Heroes movies to August.12.
  15. From Vegas to Macau 3 is the worse film ever 1/10. Can't believe Chow Yun Fat and Andy Lau decided to cast in this poor movie. But it earns 1B+ at box office. It's a sequel and released on CNY thought. I think as much as it can entertain audience, it's fine. And it's not a surprise. JC's movie has never had good plot. Some Chinese comments said they won't watch any HLW anymore. HLW is American, Lol.
  16. Red fish will do 2x > blue fish soon! Jackie Chan was highly criticized by C-nets for not posting to support China on SEA matter. Plus, his movie always has poor plot. Looks like Skiptrace will turn out to be another disappointed box office. It's Renny Harlin's first Chinese project. I heard his second project, the movie version of "The Legend of Ancient Sword", is in production now. Hopefully, he will have 3rd, 4th,..., project in China since his 1st one is likely to be disappointed. I'm worrying about next year JTTW 2's box office since Kris is one of the main lead. His scandal, his acting's criticism,..., still remain strong. Sweet 16 and L.Ó.R.D may be another victim by his haters. So Young 2 was underperformed. It's just a beginning. Zhao Wei's "No Other Love" just removed its male lead, Taiwanese actor Leon Dai, due to political issue. It's been more and more harder for Taiwanese celebrities to do career in Mainland. This movie was also criticized by C-nets for casting Japanese actress who was labelled as anti-China. Poor Zhao Wei! she should be more careful in selecting actor.
  17. It's sure that it's no MH this July, BUT... even JBM is doubtful.
  18. It topped Zootopia's OD and OW but won't make half of Zootopia's total gross. Big Fish didn't have good wom, unfocused storyline and complicated characters. The hype comes from it was 12 years in making. Sadly, it turns out to be under-expected.
  19. Mermaid's trailer is the worst one. Both CGI and storyline are so poor tbh. It just some parts are fucking hilarious. Thank to Stephen Chow and the superb performances by Deng Chao and Show Luo. TMK 2 has superb CGI but poor plot. There will be fantasy blockbuster release every week (July.29-August.19). Not to mention next year. Most of big budget movies are fantasy that heavily rely on CGI. Have no idea if League of Gods can do well or not but the CGI isn't that bad imo. And this is probably Jet Li's latest movie. Ask for Skiptrace, Jackie Chan films have never had good plot. Maybe audiences just want to see some stunning scenes. Actually, it's better to watch his classic movie.
  20. His acting in SOWK last year is fine but this Never Gone's acting is so poor. SO DISAPPOINTED! It won't make half of So Young's BO 3 years ago. EMBARRASSING! July will be down for sure. This weekend openers are far from last year MH, JBM & TMK, still wait to see if Skiptrace & League of Gods next- next week can save it. Looks like it won't.
  21. I have overestimated So Young 2, beating Book of Love is dead now. Even topping its predecessor is no way. Surely, it had highest PS but ended up lower than expectation.
