    Reminder for Pixar budgets, that's the number to run the studio. So it cost $200 mil to run the studio during production, more or less.

    Yeah but look at what that has done to Disney. I don't think people see streaming as "straight to video" anymore.

    I think people keep confusing AI with automated computer processes. Sure, AI was used to detect the eyes in Dune 2, but it's not really that much different that most CGI.

    The trailer is fine. Though it's funny they went the often joked upon "lets slow down a song and have a childrens choir sing it". Honestly should've just released a full trailer.

    Dune 2 is up to 69% of what Batman made on this same day. Locks up $255+ mil. Up 3% from last Wednesday, which was up 3% from the previous Wednesday. I'd venture to guess it gets that to at least 75% of Batman, which puts the final Domestic at $277 mil or so. Pending late legs obviously.

    I think the TV pilot comparison is apt. Not saying that's how movies should be treated, but honestly if everyone is paid, is Rather that than no movie being made at all. At least they have the creatives a shot and they're eating the loss. The biggest issue is if anyone has a back end contract. I'd hope that if anyone did, they're compensated. It sucks overall. Maybe it will help quality? Idk

    Two...? One was probably bad, and the other was the worrying one. But that doesn't make a trend. There are thousands of movies that go into production that never release.

    Because any American buyer is going to offer them far less than what it's worth, due to the ruling. I'll just keep running TikTok in all these other countries and have the US populace get pissed at the government.
