With JL promo starts coming out, WW late legs could be better than usual.
Sub-20% drop coming?

While @WrathOfHan is waiting for the weekend that WW will drop 50%, I'm waiting for it to drop 20%.
Which will come first?

Ticket ready.
I'm so hyped for this film more than SMH.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it has a box-office run like WW: OW on the lower side with good legs due to WOM. I don't see apes, dunkirk, or valerian being that much competition.
I'll be super surprised if it has WW legs. WOM will be good but not the phenomenally good like WW.
WW is not just a SH movie with great WOM and 90%+ RT. It is wayyyyy more than that.
It's also female-driven, it's original, it's a DC surprise, and it has great marketing afterwards.

I'm old enough to remember when people were really "disappointed" by Guardians 1 Saturday number after the shockingly big previews and the huge - but expected after previews were posted - Friday. After Friday people were predicting to fly by TWS and shit on OW. It ended up stabilizing on Sunday and having great legs. So far, this is following a very similar pattern to GOTG 1.
It's absolutely almost non-sense to think SMH will follow GOTG1 run. That's the fresh and original movie. SMH is the 6th spidey film already.
GOTG1 is wayyyyyy above SMH in several aspects.
This will follow typical MCU legs with 2.6-2.8x multies.

why is $350M in doubt? $128M/2.74
GOTG2 has less than 2.7x so Spidy may missed it. Also with lots of competition in the summer, the late legs could be worse.
And $400m is absolutely dead for me, the film is kind of too childish compared to WW.
-
Watched it, Spidy Hc is not as good as WW or GOTG. No surprise with WW hold.
I think $350m is in doubt for SH.

Doing $25-30m in Japan will require breaking out big. (in context of dom and dceu and cbms in Japan, would be like doing 600m+ dom)
$20m+ itself would be super. (500m dom)
$15-20m would be great. (400m dom)
$10-15m in line with expectations. (300m dom)
$100m or more is like doing 1b+ dom. (again going by how cbms behave in Japan and dceu's history).
Sad to know those terrible numbers on SH movies in Japan. But can WW break out like some big female-driven movies like Frozen or Spirited Away?
It would be a different story.

Wonder Woman had a $26m week internationally. So with legs and Japan, $400m internationally is doable.
I think it'll finish around $780m worldwide. Which is insane.
Think what the sequel will do
What about the possibility of WW breaking out in Japan and do close to $100m or more?

Suicide squad like weekly drops will take WW around 395.
Really? That would mean $400m is almost certain!

If the combined presence of Tatum and Kunis couldn't power Jupiter Ascending past $50M there's no reason to expect this to fare much better.
for Valerian I didn't get the same feeling as when JA was released.
For visuals, Valerian reminds me of Avatar. But somehow it also reminds me of GOTG and Tron.
I think the story, characters and acting will be the keys to its success in the long run.
I don't think it will make less than JA. If it has the same reviews as JA it won't do much better anyway.

Why some early predictions suggest the film will flop hard DOM?
The lead actors are not so famous but it does not significantly tone down the stunning visuals.
I will watch it on OW for sure.

It will beat GOTG legs.
-
Just saw this in the premiere, it's even worse than The Minions. Audiences tended to over-enjoy the jokes which is a good sign. I don't care if it makes $300m DOM or $1b WW. For me, it was a waste of time watching this film.
I like the cuteness of those minions but it should come in a mini movie or tv series instead of long-and-silly-story sequels in theatre. Yes it will have several sequels for sure, maybe just to promote their toys sales from time to time.

OH my god it increased again!!!
43% drop!!
Wonder Woman is a phenomenon!
It's the power of love from god.

Some more WW promos have already kicked in. If everything is going right, $400m is still possible.
Now $350m+ is the target.

Oh god I've been trying so hard not to be visible in this forum.
I failed hard this time.

All I said in that thread was:
"Why would a superhero movie drop less than 50%?
Logan, original GOTG, Deadpool dropped high 50's. Even Dark Knight dropped 50%.
I swear some people seem determined to have really unrealistic expectations for this film for some weird reason."
I thought people were piling on unrealistic expectations. I wasn't insulting them, I just thought people were being unreasonable to try and make it out as a failure for some reason. That's all.
Thank you @Nova
It's ok thanks for clearing that.

Supporting what exactly? You said I was being disrespectful to other posters who thought the film was going to drop under 50%. That was never the case. The only thing I've ever said is that those who think it's dropping more than 50% were most likely setting themselves up for disappointment (I've admitted I was wrong). That was my observation of how I thought the film was going to perform. That's not showing disrespect. That's merely having a difference of opinion.
And knowing the type of poster @Krissykinsis I highly doubt they were being disrespectful either.
Who's the one to judge that? It should be you? Or me? Or everyone else?
At least I felt those quotes have some disrespect towards me. You said you didn't mean it. I understand that. Nothing more. Move on, ok?
