Yeah even if reception was MOS esque I'm sure the thread would be more negative. Mostly due to MOS comparisons and which one was better. -

Even if you hadn't seen the marketing I don't think you'd be that good of a Cap fan to not know he's an Avenger and would be in the movie.

So you're a Captain America fan and you're not going to see a movie he's featured in ? I'd understand not seeing Thor or Guardians but I really don't know too many people who just watched TWS and then CW.

Yeah but if you're a fan of Captain America I'm pretty sure that most of the audience is checking out AOU even if it's just to see him.

I will be sorely disappointed if it can't at least outgross Civil War and Iron Man 3.

I've never understood the complaining about having to watch previous Marvel movies to understand the new one. I don't see why you'd go to Civil War without seeing TWS and AOU (it's two biggest tie ins first). Even if each movie isn't a sequel they're made to build and cumulate off each other. I'm sure as DC builds the same will happen. They expect their audience to follow along not just start at the newest movie. What's the point of connecting all the movies in the same universe if a number of them are standalone.

Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe feel more natural in this universe. With Cruise it does make it look like a Jack Reacher or Mission Impossible movie with supernatural elements.

That's disappointing to hear although Verbinski's style is always incredible and the trailers looked phenomenal.

I'm looking forward to it but even be a better reboot than TASM still puts it behind all the other CBMs this year. I just hope this streak continues.

Still better than Rings. Although I only did it to kill time before a Split screening which helped make it worth it.

They're far from guilty pleasure films. Both have somewhat decent reviews. I'd place them in my top 10.

The cast in that movie is enough to make it somewhat enjoyable. And I enjoyed it more than most romantic comedies.
