  1. Yep. When I went to see Rough Night it seemed exactly like the type of audience you would see at a romcom. Pretty sure Bridesmaids is what started this trend.
  2. The best part of Transformers: AOE was that is was my first true IMAX experience and it was visually stunning.
  3. I'm in my 20s and its still hard to watch R rated comedies with my mother. My dad on the other hand is a different story. Although we watched the first Hangover together and sure it was somewhat awkward the movie's so hilarious you just overlook it. A lot of time if I know a movie is going to be very raunchy and my mom wants to see it with me I'll just make her wait to catch the edited version on cable to save us both some embarrassment.
  4. It's just awkward though when Comedy is really the only genre I can enjoy with my mom and Snatched was the only option we had this summer. Seeing Schumer's breasts is not a fun theater experience with your mother.
  5. I feel like this summer is lacking a straight up PG-13 rated comedy that a family could enjoy together. Sure it's nice to have raunchy R rated comedies but when every single comedy that comes out is one it's no wonder you have a hard time finding a comedy summer breakout.
  6. On a smaller scale but I would include Scream 4. Especially when you consider how high some people were expecting it to go.
  7. That Elgort fan base is going to show up hard for Baby Driver. Everytime I get the trailer a bunch of teen girls get excited once they see him on screen.
  8. Just like with the first in 2015, it's great counter programming for the bigger holiday releases. Even if it's a pretty meh comedy.
  9. After these numbers is that Bumbleebee spinoff seriously still going to be a thing ? Steinfeld's better off without it anyway.
  10. Plus if the score's good it's added on tv spots and blu-ray/DVD covers.
  11. Just seen that Isabela Moner is also going to be in The Nut Job 2. So this isn't going to be the worst movie she's in all year ?
  12. I think RT scores really are starting to play somewhat more of a role in whether general audience members think a movie is worth their time. My brother who I've never heard mention a movie's critical reception before brough up didn't it get like an 18 on RT when discussing checking out Power Rangers (I corrected him it was more in the 40s) on digitial this weekend. Also after I saw The Mummy my dad asked me how it was because he wanted to see it but changed his mind after hearing it got horrible reviews. I mean people wonder why superhero and animated movies are the ones killing it this summer, look at their reviews compared to the rest. With only one exception (and it's audience reception is terrible) the only fresh movies on RT right now in the top 10 are either animated, superhero, or a combination of the two and with DM3 and Homecoming that trend will stay for a couple more weeks (although I'm happy for Baby Driver).
