  2. The years since Michael's death have only lent credence to the pedophile rumors. For example, he was on the Epstein logs. His most ardent fans will never accept that. Question is, how many ardent fans are left?
  3. Furiosa is less likely given the prequel nature of it. Beetlejuice 2 may prove good but it's highly doubtful it ends up a major awards contender given Burton's track record at the Oscars and the comedic nature of it. Unless it's a Barbie-level triumph, just not happening
  4. They're originals. If they make 100 mil domestic I'd consider that a success.
  5. I tend to think Dune is a good test movie. Those who find it boring aren't much for movies. It's not like it's some talky Oscar bait sorta thing, plenty of action & thrills throughout.
  6. So what's happened to the market since last summer? Dune oughta be tracking at 60 mil at least. Lisa Frankenstein would've done well on streaming. If they wanted theatrical they needed bigger stars.
  7. So strange how Color Purple ended up performing like a Madea movie

  9. It'd be nice have to have two masculine, old school epics battling it out at the Oscars again instead of yet another A24/Neon/Searchlight year.
  10. Guess it depends on what you mean by "mainstream popularity." People have known who she is since Suicide Squad. That just doesn't always translate to box office draw on her name alone.
  11. As far as I'm concerned Marvel fans don't care about maturity. The most mature stories (Civil War, F&WS) in the MCU have gotten a mixed response from the fanbase.
  12. I loved it too, and I think Butler has a good shot at a nomination. I worry the movie itself may not make it into Best Picture noms, as Hanks' performance alone brings it down a notch.
  13. They're saving it for next year because of reshoots and needing to perfect the edit. Next Goal Wins could easily win him back some of that adoration.
  14. Yeah, it's like a C or C+ An F would be one of the worst of the last decade. It's heavily flawed, but not an F movie.
