  1. He is taking out of context everything. Warcraft is American. China hasn´t made a single film that earns more than 50m OS. Warcraft is in engilsh. But I get his point, China has a massive audience that can compete and over take the american.
  2. The absolute floor should be 436m. BOM has it at $286m . It will do at least another 80m there ($366m). Another 30m from USA ($396m). This weekend it opens in Australia & Mexico, so at least 20m from both ($416m). The rest of the month it opens in most of South America and another small countries, so 20m ($436m). I´m not sure about Japan. I think a Sequel is still in Legendary/Universal agenda.
  3. Yeah I know the P&A cost are mostly covered by the domestic revenues., but BLIZZARD has almost infinite money to keep investing in their cinematic franchise. I´m not so worried, this could have been worse, it could have bombed in China as well.
  4. They have to, Thrall & Arthas are they biggest characters, now that this movie failed Domestic they know they have to bring them.
  5. I have to say this for the last time: US numbers aren´t that important, specially when the main production company is Chinese (Legendary) and most of the audience is in the OS market.
  6. If I'm not mistaken most of the budget for The Two Towers and Return of the king were for the CGI. since the budget for the first one covered production and pay for the actors/staff.
  7. So 150m (US dollars) in 5 days for WC confirmed? How is the WOM for Warcraft ?
  8. For legendary yes, they are getting 50% of the ticket sales, for Universal I don´t see a big problem since they only put money mostly for the release (publicity) and destribution, basically they are only getting money from the US screens and for the future VDH release.
  9. OS total as for today is 168m dollars according to BOM. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=warcraft.htm
