  1. Show proof in a hypothetical? Lol. There is absolute proof of causation or correlation between legs and theatrical window length.
  2. Everything is rumor until it happens, but lots and lots of smoke. Also, they haven't renewed him yet and he had a short contract to begin with. That says a lot. He also is at odds with Bob Iger, Kevin Feige, Allan Horn and others.
  3. Absolutely. The board is 1000x better now that the riff raff has been weeded out. The site is useful on a huge level and we get actual analysis and tracking without having to wade through page after page of bullshit.
  4. I hope everyone also realizes that every single studio is looking at this weeekend and last weekend (and will REALLY be looking at it 2 weeks from now) and saying "holy shit, streaming isn't really the gold mine we thought it was, and there is still gold in them there hills over at theatrical" and shifting back to how they used to go about business. Bob Chapek is about the only guy that doesn't get it, and that will cost him his job in about 8 months. Netflix, right now, is negotiating a 45 day exclusive theatrical window on Knives Out 2. Let that sink in.
  5. I absolutely disagree and it isn't hyperbolic nonsene. If Paramount announced this had a 45 day window to "free" streaming on Paramount+, then box office would potentially go from $1.1b to $800m. Zero chance it would be running this hot if people knew that they could just wait and see it in a few weeks for free. It's been proven over and over doing this cuts millions out of the gross and would be on a gigantic scale with a film like this.
  6. Right. Agree with that. It should be film appropriate, but NEVER announce prior when it is going to streaming.
  7. Thank you. I'm ok at it. My man @charlie Jatinder is by far the best at it. @RthMav is the man as well.
  8. As an early preview for the BOT crew here, the early Sunday numbers are indicating that $30m is pretty safe for today. Let's see where the day takes us, but that would make for around a $91m weekend.
  9. It's insane. Don't ever forget that weeks before TG2 was released, some people at Paramount put out a hit piece on Tom Cruise trying to get him to relent to putting TG2 and MI7 & MI8 on Paramount+ after 45 days and to stop asking for additionl budget on the final MI movies. Cruise, in his infinite wisdom, refused. If he didn't refuse and caved, then TG2 likely makes $300m less WW and same with MI:7 and MI:8. It was nearly a $1b mistake. Having long, sustained and adjustable windows for theatrical is the best way forward. Anyone who can't see that at these studios by now needs to get shit canned.
  10. I was just coming back on that I'm also seeing that and even more now. I'll call it $25.25m for now, but might end up at $25.5m.
  11. Yep. It's a super early number, could change some either way. Trying to be conservative with it.
  12. Also, @Shawn, as an olive branch we can get the weekend started now. Number is looking to be $22m for Friday with hopefully $23m possible. Should be at $53m by the end of Saturday and right around $75m by the end of Sunday.
