I actually doubt Moana could make that huge money, could even less than $250m domestically, moana does not have good timing at marketplace as frozen did, while frozen in 2013, did face competition like walking with dinosaur but defeat each of them and ruled the Christmas+New Year, but moana has do deal with universal's SING! which also feature song or musical some sort, Sing is going to cut moana's leg, and is a bigger threat as trailer view for Sing is so massive, 42m view on you tube, I suppose it's greater buzz/hype could dampen moana's ability to be another princess phenomena.

is 31/10 and 1/11 holidays in germany?? if so, should help box office gross as well

Yeah. Weekends should remains quite strong through September for Dory now, so it needs to hold well over the next few weeks to have a chance of topping TJB.
I suppose no major animation release in the near future?

frozen seems is within reach given silver week is coming......

Possibly, they'll probably end up within a couple million of each other, but it's not certain yet,
but summer has ended........or else mid-week gross will boost it more.....

10 (07) ¥73,000,000 ($710,000), -45%, ¥6,600,000,000 ($63.9 million), Finding Dory (Disney) WK8>Director Makoto Shinkai's 'Your Name.' continues to defy belief by experiencing a second weekend increase, but not just any increase, but a likely 20%+ increase. Its opening weekend was already insane enough, arguably the most-impressive on record, but its second weekend in on an entirely different level and without a doubt the most-impressive second frame of all-time.
According to estimates, its second weekend will be the 6th biggest of all time overall, and the 2nd biggest for an animation film (behind only Howl's Moving Castle). It's also the biggest second weekend since 2007, and a small increase over estimates could make it the biggest second weekend since 2004. And a quick example of how significant this second weekend is in terms of modern-day box office: Its second weekend admissions will be greater than Star Wars: The Force Awaken's opening weekend, and nearly on par with its opening weekend in gross.
Its two-week total also comes in near an all-time high as well for an animated film (and maybe top 10 overall, despite no holiday support). It's outpacing every animated film ever after two weeks besides Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away (and its second weekend just bested the latter). Everyone has been waiting to see who would be the "next Miyazaki" at the box office, if anyone could ever fill that role at all, and audiences and critics alike have spoken in unity that Makoto Shinkai is that guy.
Shinkai's dreamesque love story has become a very likely ¥10 billion+ ($100 million+) earner following the result of this weekend, and don't be too surprised if it makes a run at well over the uber-blockbuster mark and climbs toward ¥15 billion ($150 million), or more, as it's likely to remain atop the box office for a couple months.
will the mid-Sep holidays help your name to gross further?

And the clash Moana/Sing is already sickening me
Illumination has horrible release dates..
frozen was lucky back in 2013, walking with dinosaur was bombed badly.....so that allow frozen is dominating christmas and new year season....moana won't have that luck

BVS was financially successful and a hit. But can't see how someone cannot accept that it was disappointing at the bo.
Find people saying it won't do 350 dom. Go to the Over/Under 375 club a look at posts 1 week before the OW. It didn't even do 335.
F7 opened with 147 and did 353 in a similar calendar. It's a sequel in a franchise not known for legs.
BVS did 166 and 330. It's not even in the top 10 CBMs, unadjsuted that too.
BVS in 2016 falling below GOTG's 2014 dom....Batman+Superman+WonderWoman+Lex....how is that not disappointing.
It did 1.99x and could not crack 2.0x. It's disappointing.
Superman standalone does 291 in 2013.
3 years later, add fucking Batman and get Batman and Superman to share screen for the 1st time ever, add in iconic WW 1st time ever, Lex and Doomsday as villains, and you can't even add 40m more to MOS after 3 years of inflation.
Was it a success. Yes. Was it disappointing. Hell Yes.
it's still a success, but succeed terribly, BvS had a real shot of $500m given it huge potential and WB great marketing strategy......

What do you see as being the key difference that has allowed the Pixar formula to enjoy great success in Japan?
In a country famed for its animation industry, Pixar had been the reigning studio for animated imports for years.
well, I never consider Japan as one of the asian country, Japan rarely considered as Asian country if in economics term......but of course they are geographically asia~

I'm not sure about that. How is Pixar's formula different from WDAS' formula. I think that if Zootopia can explode in China, so can something from Pixar.
there are still different of style between pixar and WDAS, you've need to search that feeling, feel it, WDAS have frozen, big hero 6 and zootopia keep performing above pixar, meaning that two studio still differentiating themselves in the way many people not having notice it.....
-
I think Pixar's movie doesn't fare well in china because of cultural factor, the pixar formula never work in china, and not only china, several asian country also display the same condition, just china is too big and hence, get attention
-
I,too, doubt the performance of Fantastic beast in japan, remember how far is the difference between the lord of the ring 3 and hobbit trilogy?
the last LOTR earned more than ¥10b yen in 2004 but Hobbit only got ¥1b+.......... -
I wonder why there are so much superhero film in one year, and along with other big-budget blockbusters, all these blockbuster are cannibalising each other......
