  1. Just a note, Spectre opened on Monday 26 October 2015. Doctor Strange on Tuesday 25 October 2016.
  2. My Predictions 1. War Dogs $23 million 2. Suicide Squad $20.88 million 3. Sausage Party $18.48 million 4. Ben-Hur $18 million 5. Kubo and the Two Strings $14 million 6. Pete's Dragon $12.91 million 7. Jason Bourne $8.31 million 8. Bad Moms $7.95 million 9. The Secret Life of Pets $6.80 million 10. Star Trek Beyond $4.13 million
  3. Any OD numbers for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates? @Rth
  4. Where does everyone get their box office numbers from? sources?
  5. Yeah according to Digital Cinema Media Suicide Squad did very strong at midnight previews.
  6. Can't believe that it did £8.1M in the week kudos to Dory. Amazing money for it doing the same amount of business in 4 days as the opening weekend. Deserving film too.
  7. My Predictions for 5-7 August 2016 1. Obviously, Suicide Squad will take #1, I don't really know how much, £8-9 million sounds about right, but could be as high as £10 million. Bad word of mouth might push Sunday numbers down a bit. 2. Finding Dory won't fall hard maybe down to £5.2-5.8 million. I expect Finding Dory to hit mid to high £30s. Should be at £16-18 million by Sunday and £20 million before Pete's Dragon. 3. Jason Bourne, I'm thinking will fall 50-60% because of middling reviews and big competition, so £3-3.7 million for the second weekend and a total of about £13.5-14.3 million. 4. The BFG will continue its slow decent with a bit bigger, but still respectable drop of 45% with a potential £19.5 million in the top 3 (with the high ends of my guesses) £1.8-2.1 million, it should be at about £20 million by the end of the weekend. 5. Star Trek Beyond, the film will most likely drop , like Jason Bourne 55-60% because of the strong competition £1-1.3 million sounds about right. Can't believe how crowded August is after Suicide Squad On 10 August Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (Not going to make much of a dent in the box office) 11 August Nerve 12 August The Shallows, Pete's Dragon 17 August Nine Lives 19 August Lights Out, David Brent: Life on the Road, Swallows and Amazons 26 August The Purge: Election Year, Bad Moms, War Dogs, Mechanic: Resurrection and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
  8. My predictions for the coming week 1. Central Intelligence £4.52M The film has a brilliant duo with Kevin Hart and social media demon The Rock and should do well this weekend. The question will really be can the film have legs. My prediction at the moment is a 2.6-2.8x multiplier for a gross of £11.75-12.66M. The has a 67% on RT which won't make people flock to the film but won't turn them away either. 2. The Secret Life of Pets £3.84M This one had a surprising opening weekend and should continue to surprise through its run. The film should fall only 35% if you exclude previews which is a very soft drop. By Sunday it should have passed £15M and be on its way to £20M. It is looking for an excellent multiplier of 3-3.3x which would be £28.59-31.45M. 3. Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie £2.46M This is really an unknown for me. I have no idea what it will do this weekend, my guess is mostly based on the fact someone said it has good Friday business haha. The film has a slightly positive The Guardian and Den of Geek review (both at around 3 stars. £10M seems like a stretch, maybe £6.5-7.5M 4. Independence Day: Resurgence £1.96M Dropping 55% I think we all know why it's going to fall hard because it is awful. With 32% on RT and Metacritic. £15M tops for the total gross. 5. The Conjuring 2 £0.924M I guess it will have a smaller drop this weekend. Might have a third weekend of anything from £0.9-1.05M. The film should end up with £12-13M by its final weekend You guys got any predictions?
