So is this when the sub [read: box office subreddit] going to come to terms with the fact that this film isn't going to be as leggy as TFA?
I think they might be in for a surprise.
It might not reach TFA multiplier... but I think it's gonna be a lot closer than they think. Certainly not below 3.
Then again, it could even have better legs than TFA for all we know since it opened lower.
That would require the movie to be an event though
Just got news today that the problem my dad was having, which we all thought was bone cancer (even the dentist told him so), was just a lesion caused by an infection he had when younger, the tests revealed.
Holy shit, the relief
Now for those weekly numbers tonight, tomorrow, this week-end... my body is ready, BRING 'EM ON!! FULL FORCE!
Had this been released in the summer, pretty sure a $178M OW prediction would have been right on point
But then, the summer legs
Under 400?
Worse legs than Civil War's already atrocious legs?
....
Might have we found the escape route to this endless argument? Shall we finally have peace, after hundreds of pages of "uneventful" discussion?
Tune in to the next episode of Box Office theory's t ---- ah fuck it, we know you're all constantly refreshing anyway

A friend checked me in to Tatooine the other night and today Facebook asked me to write a review of the place. Done.

"Of those similar box-office performances, the worst-performing of the batch — “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2” — made about $317 million in North America (in 2016 dollars) when all was said and done, while the best-performing — “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” — made around $478 million. So, that’s a pretty wide range of possibilities. The median movie made $396 million, not a bad haul at all. That’s almost enough to justify a sequel, and golly I wonder what’s going to happen with that Death Star and those stolen plans."

Anyone who thinks Rogue One is going to end with $396M is setting themselves up for some legit surprises
edit: Also, none of those movies opened in December
You know what's funny?
We shouldn't even need Jason's numbers to assert that holiday movies have better legs, it's fairly self-explanatory. The holidays being what they are, people are off work and they have more time to go to the movies either with friends or families. It is really that simple.
... can't hurt to have 'em around though
