  1. There's not a single screen in North Yorkshire allowed to screen it in 3D either. My friend rang up the VUE in York to ask why there are no 3D showings and they said the director (lol) disallowed them from showing it (screens weren't bright enough). My point is that Jim's smackdown on crappy projectors has taken affect. Perhaps this contributed to SEA outpacing the UK.
  2. Well GITS's total gross has already been beaten in Korea, Taiwan, Malyasia, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Looking pretty strong in East Asia. The UK number could have been better.
  3. yeah found the link now was just going from memory
  4. That 3 day does include the opening day though! Remember Alita is going to behave as an original film does so being that close to a sequel in HTTYD 3 is pretty impressive.
  5. Think HTTYD made $5.5m last week so pretty good I'll say
  6. yeah going to need to somehow make sense of this lol, does that include Tuesday to Thurs?
  7. http://koreanfilm.or.kr/eng/news/boxOffice_Daily.jsp?mode=BOXOFFICE_DAILY Alita: Battle Angel U.S. $1,796,042 ($10,823,349) 213,435 (1,253,591) an expected SUNDAY in SK
  8. Russia's our ace in the hole. The love for Avatar is immense!
  9. nothing compared to the original so it shouldn't have been made. IMDB warriors always forget context. The effort Jim put into Alita can't be compared with those two. Then there's the fact that a poor movie in Santcum managed to make a massive profit with just the power of Jim's name.
  10. I find UK and USA are some what interlinked with their film taste. Just we have more James Bond and Harry Potter power
  11. It's more like you look at the Avatar saga as a whole, that it can't lose money now because they've used the hedge fund created from Avatar to produce the sequels. That's the rumour atleast.
  12. check out the THR interview with Tim and Jim if you're interested, great interview. He was super involved in the script writing process but I'm not sure if he was the main writer ( I think he was).
  13. Back to numbers now please. The "everyone takes turns at giving a monologue on the state of Cameron fanboys" got old years ago. Yet to see many OW 3 DAY, 4-5 day OW Alita predictions! This is the weekend thread right? Let's see em'
  14. Lego's audience isn't just kids. What I said does indeed make sense, never claimed everyone who wont see lego will go see Alita.
  15. Food for though. Box Office pro's Alita OW been rising every week (however small) and the presales been out pacing 30m+ OW films. With Lego's muted opening it further adds to Alita's OW.
