  1. The Eight Hundred may hold previews from Jun.21...If great WOM come out, which is very possible, Far From Home will get effect by that...
  2. DP vs Apocalypse China - $45.6M (-23%) Korea - $5.7M (-50%) Mexico - $5M (-41%) UK - $4.9M (-54%) France - $3.8M (-39%) Russia - $3.4M (-46%) Brazil - $2.9M (-54%) Phillippines - $2.4M (-51%) Taiwan - $2.3M (-40%) India - $2.3M (-32%) Apocalypse: DOM - $155.4M CHN - $121M rest - $267M DP: DOM - $75M (-52%) CHN - $75M (-38%) rest - $147M (-45%) Total - $297M
  3. New ending: Thanos win. No more Phase 4. One billion dollars more will come!
  4. Increase on today is fine. But according to pre-sale, Dark Phoenix could drop 20-30% on Sat. Mostly 30%+ drop on Sun.
  5. China won’t ban any Hollywood blockbusters because of trade war.
  6. current total pre-sale of animations Spirited Away - ¥245K Toy Story 4 - ¥6695K...Oh wait, it’s just ¥6695. So SA is 36.6 times of TY4.
  7. Better Days may move to Jun.21. Good for Far From Home, worse for animations...
  8. Characters/actors fans are big parts of many films’ early buzz in China. Venom definitely got benefits from the delay because audience had more time to adjust their expectations on the chemistry of Venom & Eddie. Not spoiler but Kinberg destroyed Professor X by stupid writing, and McAvoy & Erik-Charles fans didn’t feel so good. Many characters changed their position so easy...I mean they actually have some good reasons to fight for what they are standing for, but Kinberg didn’t care so much and just made the plots move on as quick as he wanted. Some lines especially from Jean did really waste what the actress tried to do(trough trailers you probably already knew that...). And I think general audience can feel these problems though some cool scenes from Magneto.
  9. My expectation is about ¥35M total pre-sale finally(including midnights). Mostly total pre-sale/opening week=15% for superhero fims. MCU solo has been reaching around 18% recently. AQM is the lowest with 10%. So it means ¥350M might be the max even if the WOM is incredible like 9.4/10 on Maoyan.
  10. Local YA title Better Days may beat Far From Home before The Eight Hundred come to July 5th.
  11. Dark Phoenix is the last case for the original Fox marketing team. After that, Disney will control those Fox titles.
  12. 139% of Shazam (this film debuted with 205m) 103% of Ragnarok (362m) 85% of Guardians 2 (342m) 56% of Homecoming (462m) 53% of Aquaman (652m) 44% of Black Panther (422m) 28% of Captain Marvel (597m) All these numbers tell me $45M for 4-day opening could be in danger...though I still believe $50-55M would happen.
  13. Disney didn't handle these things about Fox in China yet. Mostly Disney don't have any local partner for marketing or distribution.
  14. I inquired about this. Local distribution partner iQiyi will hold many fan screenings in big cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen(could be more). Fans can get the tickets for the price of just $1-1.5 even free, and all those screenings have the same condition I mentioned.
