Saw X barely outdoing Jigsaw and Spiral despite all of the studio's efforts to bring back the good old days would be pretty embarrassing.
Nah, Saw X has a reasonable budget ( 13 million, according to Variety ). Legs will matter on this one and a possible fresh review will also help in the long haul.

The better than expected reviews for Saw X might improve its domestic performance, I assume.

A fresh Saw movie wasn't in my bingo card...lol
Why are critics enjoying a 10th movie of a franchise where even the fantastic Saw 1 was rotten?
While I never cared about critics ( I'm a huge Saw fan ), I'm really curious about this.

So far, 8 fresh reviews and 2 rotten on Rotten Tomatoes

According to Variety, Saw X has a budget of 13 million.
So, making 15/20 million for opening weekend probably will lead to the inevitable Saw XI, right?

Production budget estimated in 10 million

This is the 10th movie of a franchise where all 9 previous movies were rotten. At this point, people are either in or out.
These movies are as critic proof as they can be. At least, critics shouldn't matter for this franchise, BUT it's good to see people saying it returns to its roots.

Well, the producers don't get the point of a movie called Expendables.
SpoilerIt starts as Expendables, then Stallone gets written out ( or fridged ), then Megan Fox's character actually becomes the leader of the group ( not kidding ) and Jason Stathan's character gets dismissed by Andy Garcia's character, working alone, turning the movie into a Jason Statham actioner.
I enjoyed the movie for being so dumb it's good, BUT Statham saved it from being boring. CinemaScore won't be pretty.

Having watched this one, I'm curious about the CinemaScore.
It's a dumb fun movie, but it's also very stupid and has some really bad effects and some weird editing and a stupid twist. I'm biased for this kind of movies and I think fans of previous ones will enjoy it a bit, but this is getting 100% the worst CinemaScore of them.
SpoilerI wouldn't be surprised with a C+
The producers and writers don't get the point of a movie called Expendables.
SpoilerSomeone gets killed early on, only to return in the last scene as some stupid Deus Ex Machina moment. They also set up Iko Uwais to be the villain ( according to the trailer ), but in the movie he's another henchman of the main villain that's revealed in the end of the third act ( guess who? ). Also, Megan Fox is the leader of the Expendables. I'm not joking. The effects were Asylum levels of production.

Are Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa given a decent amount to do?
They have some scenes and that's it.

I'm back after a screening!
It was much better than Expendables 3, for sure. That I can say. The R rating really helps at all.
SpoilerStallone is barely in it ( he's out of the movie early on ). This starts as a Expendables movie, but turns into a Jason Stathan actioner ( which is perfectly fine in my book, given how I enjoy his movies ) right after. There's a twist about who the villain is.
It's ok. Maybe 6.5 / 7 out of 10, but I'm biased and enjoy that kind of flick. So, perhaps many won't like it.

So, is this gonna be the "Mother!" of DC? F CinemaScore incoming for Aquaman? Killing a baby is a big no?
Anyway, this is a movie and we're talking about test screenings and everyone is assuming there were walkouts because of a scene that everyone assumes it's about a baby getting killed. Remember, these are the same scoopers that said The Flash was the best comic book movie since TDK.
James Wan is a very competent director and he knows what he's doing. I think the movie will be fine. Many people are just jumping into conclusions, based on tweets and scoops from some users that are sometimes reliable, sometimes not.

Looks quite good and the visuals are amazing. It might perform really well enough to get a sequel, which will get the "Elseworlds" treatment.
-
Well, this seems to be the kind of "more of the same" movie. The "more of the same" approach isn't always a bad thing, BUT this is following The Nun, and that one was very bad. So, I'm really not feeling anything and definitely no hype. I'm actually more excited to watch Saw X, which is quite impressive for a 10th Saw movie.

The PostTrak exits for Gran Turismo are insanely good. 5 stars. We can wait for a great A CinemaScore.

I can't wait for it.
Regarding the opening weekend, this is the 10th movie of a franchise. Double digits would be amazing. These movies aren't that expensive and they can pay themselves easily.

Whoa!!! Barbie is a killing doll and Oppy is blowing up competition! I'm happy for their numbers!
However, the biggest surprise is still Sound of Freedon. It's obviously beating Mission Impossible domestic, Flash, Indy, Shazam 2, Scream VI, Dungeons and Dragons. That wasn't in my bingo card! XD
