Hoping Barbie 200m OW,just because i pity WB having so many flop this year.

    Let's go Barbie....let's go billion....ow...ow..ow..yeah....

Yeah. Thanks to Barbie, WB will recover everything they lost with The Flash, only to lose everything again when Blue Beetle gets released and it flops. :)

  2. As much as I'm not interested in Barbie or Oppy ( I'm in the minority obviously ), they're probably getting great CinemaScores. At least, based on the info shared by Deadline.

Barbie got 4 and 1/2 stars and Oppy got 5 stars.  Sure, these are PostTrak scores and not CinemaScores. I think they could get different, but both flicks will probably land on the A range, imo.

I don't like Barbie and I really don't want to see a 3 hour movie featuring people talking in rooms. Yeah, I'm biased against these movies, BUT I also hope you get the best experience watching them. I'm a Mission Impossible fan, though! :)

I am way out of the loop for 'Sound of Freedom' so apologies if this has been asked.  I didn't see any trailers for this movie. I didn't really see anything about it.  I have heard some of the political discourse surrounding it but I've tried to stay away from that too.

Is the movie actually doing really well?  Or is there some chicanery going on?  I saw something about it's box office numbers "not being what they seem" but it wasn't on here.

What's going on with it? Is middle America really rushing out to see it in droves?

The box office numbers are exactly what they seem to be. There's some conspiracy BS from some people claiming nobody is watching this movie and that every theater is empty and the studio is paying all the money. These people are doing exactly what they accuse others of doing ( conspiracy ). It's quite unfortunate that they probably didn't even watch the movie.

In the reality, movie is great ( at least, imo ) and it's very well acted and produced.

  4. Barbie is big "No, thanks" for me. I hope you enjoy it and have a great experience. Just not my cup of tea.

I won 2 free tickets at work and I can use to see any movie. I'm considering watching Mission Impossible. I watched Sound of Freedom last week and that movie was insanely great. Great weekend coming.

  5. I loved the movie! One of the best I saw this year.

Very tough subject and very serious questions are developed. Yeah, there are people and people who watch movies.

Child Trafficking is NOT a "conspiracy from QAnon groups". I really hope some people stop making false claims like that. Child trafficking is unfortunately VERY real and it happens every single day all over the world. Sure, you have every right to dismiss the movie and you have every right to not like who stars in the movie, BUT the subject is very real, no matter if you agree or not with who made the flick.

Crazy people might go to theaters to see any movie. We don'tknow personally every person who goes to see a movie in theaters. I know I don't go and ask if people are they vote right or left. It's a very weird perspective. It doesn't make sense saying things like " I don’t exactly feel comfortable sitting in a theater with a bunch of them".

This is my first and only post on this topic. I loved the movie. For those who hated it or don't want to see it, I wish you get the best experience with the stuff you really enjoy. :)

  6. I really enjoyed it! It's not the "I need to watch it ASAP!" flick, but you won't feel you lost your money if you give it a chance.

The acting was fine, action scenes were cool overall, Keaton was badass. It's obvious that Affleck basically wanted to get rid ofhis Batman as soon as possible.

It's considerably better than almost most of the DCEU flicks, imo.

  7. DC movies live or die on their own. Wonder Woman made insane numbers and came after 3 DC rotten movies ( Man of Steel / BVS and Suicide Squad ). Aquaman made insane ammounts of money, even though it followed the Justice League movie that flopped. We also had Joker that made more than 1 billion worldwide and wasn't damaged by rotten flicks. If Flash is failing, it's because most of people weren't interested. Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle will follow the same pattern.

I dare to say Blue Beetle will be a surprise.

But in case of failure as it seem what could be the reasons?

DC burnout, Ezra being a criminal, stuff from Snyderverse ( Snyder damaged the brand a lot ), Gunn's reboot being revealed even before the release of The Flash.

I think WB should celebrate this movie not being rotten on RT.

WB should write off The Flash, consider Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 as elseworlds movies.

The real reboot starts with Superman Legacy.

Just came out of the Singapore premiere in IMAX. Whole theater ate it up.. applause at the end.

I think WoM will be strong; IMO it is GOTG3 level or better.

Lots of surprises, and very touching.

The DP for GOTG 3 also worked in The Flash. Nice victory to him. :)

Looks good for word of mouth

  10. I think WB should be happy for Flash not being a rotten movie on RT.

The rest is just the rest.

Just wait for 3 months after this movie's release, fire Ezra, then put Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle as elseworlds movies. The real reboot starts with Gunn's Superman.

  11. So, this is what WB / DC should do, in a nutshell:

    1) Celebrate. Yeah, celebrate the fact this movie isn't ROTTEN on RT. WB was in need of a "not rotten" DC movie. Enough of rotten.

    2) Treat Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle as "elseworlds" movies.

    3) The new universe starts with Gunn's Superman.

    4) Did I say they must fire Ezra Miller? No? So, there you have it! :)

  12. While I defend critics, I also expect critics to do their job as critics. If you hate a movie, you can hate it all you want. Just review the art, not the artist.

I've read a review on RT and it literally says: "To offer the film any kind of praise is an uneasy task, because its star is one of the most controversial Hollywood figures in recent memory"

I'm not lying. It's right there on RT.

  13. 73% isn't the worst score to get, BUT it needs to do better if you really sell it as one of the best superhero flicks.

Anyway, no meltdowns to have. Nothing will ever top whatever happened during BVS release.

I hope the movie has a very solid performance in box office and Gunn really makes a great Superman movie.

  14. If Flash gets good reviews and a fresh score on RT, WB / DC will see that as a win. Sure, money and profit are part of the business, but DC really needs a fresh movie on RT. So, fresh score first, money later.

While we'll be seeing the inevitable "Flash's budget is X,Y,Z" threads / topics, it's obvious that quality should matter. DC needs it . WB needs it.

Wouldn't it be the exact opposite, since it'd be easier to to do a cleaner reset?

Depends on what you mean by "easier". Easier in the sense of forgetting everything that came before and pretend the new Superman is the start of the DCU? That can be countered by the fact that studios are control freaks and they can put a huge pressure on James Gunn. Are you ready to hear and read future "behind the scenes" reports saying the new Superman is "chaotic" and Gunn's last chance to save the sinking ship?

Sure, I'm probably being way too much dramatic and even ironic, BUT we should be realistic and expect this kind of stuff. Nobody does movies for charity. At least, not studios. DC / WB ( at least regarding comic book movies ) are known for being hit or miss. For every Dark Knight we get a Batman and Robin.
