  1. yeah, but imagine if there is a fallout between them and they end up giving the project to Ron Howard, or , may god forgive me for saying that name, Brett Ratner?
  2. Oh yeah, I was wondering why @Napoleon looked like supporting the movies of a pedophile.
  3. An "age" commonly lasts for at least a century. That would make pretty much all movies since the dawn of cinema "of this age". The force awakens is not even the defining movie of the decade. Especially since the only thing it does is to ride on the nostalgia for the original trilogy.
  4. For one. you miss the point of the discussion, the real victim here is democracy, as these totalitarian tactics will make people afraid to speak their mind. For a second, normalizing stupidity is funny, but also dangerous.
  5. God forbid you criticize the extreme lengths that #MeToo has reached. What is actually funny in this case, is that most women that I know, actually agree with Cavill. They like to be courted. The people that are outraged by this remind me of the fox and the grapes. Also funny, Chad Johnson's story that came to light is one to look at. He was approached by a producer and was pretty much promised roles in exchange for sex. Instead of taking the sexual abuse and the roles that came with it, and crying about it on twitter ten years later, he sued the producer, gave names and gave evidence and held nothing back. Hope the other #MeToo victims will follow suit.
  6. Here's how I see it: His argument is infallible. We've had great, compelling and empowered female characters starring in movies way before WW came out. His work is living proof. WW technically broke ground only in the minds of some people. And I don't see how Cavill made a stupid mistake. He spoke his mind. He said what he believes is the truth and how he feels about this situation. The fact that he was forced to say he's sorry proves how right he is about outrage culture. You can disagree with him, but the fact that people who disagree with you have to apologize to you, is disturbing.
  7. Funny thing is that noone even tried to argue him wrong. They just called him an asshole. Easiest way to tell someone is full of shit is when they just attack the character instead of making any points.
  8. It's true that Gunn got what he asked, since he himself was for ABC's caning of Roseanne. What worries me in this culture though is that most of the time, the talented people are the most outspoken ones. Other recent examples of people attacked for speaking their mind (without being offensive) is Cavill and J.Cameron. If we drive the talented people out of the industry, we'll get stuck with the Rian Johnsons of the industry.
  9. Nobody gave a fuck because everyone was fully immersed in the awesomeness of Thor's entrance to the battle. I guarantee you nobody will feel the same for any scene in Aquaman, except for maybe Napoleon
  10. The difference is that Gunn is a liberal, and the media will not attack one of their own just like that.
  11. While his jokes are not funny and I understand they could be deemed offensive, I think it's telling that it's only certain categories of jokes that people get offended by. Apparently, it's ok to make jokes about homeless people, child labour, death etc, but god forbid you make a joke about rape. I may not like these jokes, but I will never accept the public hanging of the people who make them. Especially when the jury is comprised by idiots like StevenG that will condemn someone, not because of the joke, but because they made a movie for a franchise they do not like.
  12. I like J.Gunn's movies. I also like the fact that he gets people so upset just because he's done movies for the MCU.
  13. I also admire mr.CIA's bodyguards that instead of trying to take out Bane, they start punching the two guys that are still restrained and on the floor.
  14. TDKR opening scene is the single most laughable sequence that a movie has tried to pass off as serious. Every single aspect of it.
  15. If R.Liefeld said something, then I respect it. People like to shit on him nowadays, but he's a comic book god as far as I am concerned.
