  1. When is Dominion's last day in China? Does it get completely pulled after it's two months?
  2. If $50 million is the ceiling, the dream of $1 billion worldwide appears dead.
  3. I think for Dominion to hit $1 billion worldwide it is going to need to make $58 million+ in Japan. What are the realistic odds that could even happen?
  4. $10.2 million opening seems really good for Dominion. Is the expectation still $50 million+ total?
  5. Not sure I understand all these comps and stuff, but is JWD doing good, bad or on par with expectations this weekend?
  6. That is interesting that Universal has much bigger expectations than Industry Insiders. You would think they would underestimate to be safe.
  7. JWD seems to be on pace for around $940-945 million without Japan. Someone correct me if I am wrong please. It is does 10b yen in Japan (roughly $73 million) it will easily cross $1 billion worldwide. If Issac Newton's prediction of 7b yen (roughly $51 million) comes true, that would seem to make JWD's finish around $991-996 million. Which at that case I would think Universal would do something to milk out a few extra millions to hit the billion dollar mark.
  8. Seems like it is heading to $940-945 million without Japan. If it is capable of $55-60 million in Japan it will likely hit $1 billion!
  9. So about a $5-$5.2 million weekend for JWD for about a 41% drop from last weekend, which doesn't seem too bad. Though that is following the same increases and decreases as it's third weekend when it also had a 56% increase on Friday but a 45% increase on Saturday. Maybe this weekend the Saturday increase would be more for a higher weekend number.
  10. What is the realistic expectation for Dominion this weekend, especially with it now available to buy/rent on streaming? I have seen forecasts anywhere from $4 million to $6 million.
  11. Do you think Shanghai and Beijing starting to re-open theaters might give Dominion a little extra boost in China?
  12. Even if Japan does just $40 million, $950 million seems locked. Idk, $1 billion still seems slightly possible.
  13. I was just comparing JW3 and Doctor Strange 2 and saw a lot of similarities at this stage of their runs but also evidence that Jurassic is running slightly better. Every day during its third week, Jurassic saw slightly better daily numbers, was about $300K more during its 4th weekend and yet again running slightly better daily numbers during its fourth week. Doctor Strange 2 had a $9.17 million 5th weekend and most projections I see seem to think JW3 will do $9-10 million this weekend. Which again puts it right with or very slightly ahead of DS2. At day 27 JW3 is at $340.3 million and DS2 was at $378.1 million and now is at $410.7 million (a total of $32.6 million more after day 27). So assuming JW3 follows DS2 exactly the same the rest of the way or slightly better (as it has been the last 9-10 days), that seems to put JW3's final total around $373-380 million. Does that seem like the realistic track it is on?
  14. What is the realistic expectation for Japan? Jurassic World did $74 million and Fallen Kingdom did $72 million. Also what would it likely have to do there to get the film to $1 billion worldwide?
  15. How high can Dominion's total now possibly go in China with the extension?
  16. Dominion will cross $800 million this weekend, but where do we think it will be at total at the end of the weekend?
  17. Most people seem to have written off $1 billion, but Deadline for some reason still thinks it is a likelihood. https://deadline.com/2022/06/top-gun-maverick-jurassic-world-dominion-elvis-global-china-international-box-office-1235052205/ So what is the realistic ending point for Dominion?
  18. Smaller Monday to Tuesday drop than TG2, that seems like that would have been unexpected. Maybe TG2 won't pass JWD in dailies this week (until perhaps Friday if at all this week)?
  19. Just checked my local theater and they just added their IMAX showings for this weekend (Friday through Sunday). 9 showings for Jurassic World Dominion, 3 showings for Lightyear and 0 for Top Gun. Also looks like Dominion will remain their IMAX movie all next week too, with just one of their showings being for Lightyear
  20. Deadline updated their preview number article and says $70-85 million for Lightyear. https://deadline.com/2022/06/lightyear-box-office-2-1235047729/
