I loved her in 28 Days Later. The fact that she's in it gives me a reason to look forward to this.

They lowered it from $40m which I already thought was low.
The first trailer was so good and though I liked the second one the marketing seems to have lost instead of gained momentum.
I blame the copious use of John C Reilly as "comic relief".
King Kong is also a damaged brand. The franchise has three films that share the same plot and story, one bad sequel, one cash-in sequel, and two Japanese made films that didn't have as far of a reach as their American counterparts.
In 5 out of 7 films, King Kong dies.
The formula has been predictable for so long that people expect to see the same movie. This is the one that will break that trend and offer something different. For that reason, it will be a pity if this is the one that ends up flopping.

If you give me a valid reason why. I don't like him and I'm sure you don't like some actors but nobody tells you to stop criticizing them. Boyega has been shoveled down our throats like your average Jai Courtney yet it's OK to criticize Courtney. I see no difference. Marginally talented both of them lucked out with some franchises and are now put in eevrything. That should stop.
He hasn't been shoveled down my throat, and I've been monitoring news about Pacific Rim: Uprising since 2013, when I honestly wasn't expecting news about it. He isn't as talked about as Frozen (for example) was in 2013-14, so I don't understand where you're getting this from. I've only found news about Boyega when I looked for it. With the amount of times you've posted in this thread, I can't help but think that you're just here to trash it.
Which I'm alright with, considering that I've been taking cracks at Power Rangers since October. But I'm not tired of hearing about it. If I'm tired of hearing about a particular actor, I don't go looking for things about them. This thread is bound to have a focus on Boyega because he is Jake Pentecost--the MC.
Also, he's in Star Wars. It makes sense that as an up-and-coming Hollywood actor he'd be a hot topic. Talking about it won't change that.

Predator has interacted with kids before. Also,
Yautja consider it dishonorable to kill children. Tremblay's character is probably safe.

I don't know if I'll see it in theaters. The movie feels too much like a comedy instead of a horror film.
I'm not sure if that's the intended effect, because I know Peele is a comedian himself (but who doesn't?). It's genuinely creepy. I just don't know if I should expect it to actually be that way when I sit down and watch it.

Remember Blair Witch?
Yeah.
This. I think it'll have a bit of a higher domestic opening, though.

I just saw that TV spot (?) play 10 minutes or so ago. I'm currently watching the AFC Championship game.
It feels weird knowing that this is their "blockbuster opener" for Summer 2017. I can appreciate that they aren't letting it die quietly.

There's nothing out there that says it's 190. Just rumors. I've heard 160... 130. We don't know and it doesn't sound like we will.
Agreed. I remember when Wikipedia had the budget for Godzilla listed as a big fat $205 million. That amount was about $45 million beyond the actual production budget.
But I could totally see this movie's budget being $190 million. The Legend of Tarzan had a similar budget, and there was a heavy dosage of CGI action in it.

Another spot, courtesy of Toho Kingdom. Some nice homages here.
Anybody who has seen King Kong vs. Godzilla should probably remember Oodaku, the giant octopus.

There should have never been a PR2 to begin with, hence the reason Tull is out on his ass.
Agreed. Travis Beacham neatly wrapped the story up and put a pretty bow on it. Hopefully the sequel's story has a justifiable reason for following the previous film, other than completely copying the first film's plot.

If Skull Island and PR2 underperform we may never see Godzilla vs King Kong.
I think that if Pacific Rim 2 flops, it just means no Pacific Rim 3.
But I think that if Kong: Skull Island underperforms, that's a possibility.

Chronicle 2: It's Morphin' Time.
I'm just as uninterested as I was after seeing the teaser in October.

Another banner. I think we can expect more meaty stuff soon.

I owned a German Shepherd, so this video is going to make me cry if I watch it.
Needless to say, I won't purchase a ticket for this. Not that I ever planned to...

Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah. Who are actually slated for Godzilla 2. Or at least, Legendary has the rights to them.
There's also the possibility that we'll get another original monster. Unless Godzilla and Kong are truly fighting each other throughout with no outside enemy for them to team up against.

Can you give me the size of Peter Jackson s Kong and this Kong's Size, in meters, please ?
Thanx.
The latest Kong's size may be an estimation, but assuming that he is *literally* 100 feet tall as the reports have said...
King Kong (2005) -- 7.62 meters (25 feet)
Kong (2017) -- 30.48 meters (100 feet)

This is partly why I was iffy about the Dalian Wanda acquisition.
Now some films in the planning stages could be in danger. Wanda just has to whisper in someone's ear to get rid of something they don't want.

Maybe they already started filming?
It's a possibility, but I'd be curious to know how they could keep such a thing hidden.

Considering that Godzilla and Interstellar were the last Legendary Pictures films to make money, this doesn't shock me. Hopefully Mary Parent steers this company in the right direction.

They have a year and nine days to put this in a watchable format and show it in theaters?
I'm expecting it to be pushed back.

I always had a feeling that Get Out could be big, but now, I'm even more sure about that. Wellness also has a intriguing premise that could end being a break out. I'm a bit surprised that Annabelle 2 didn't make the list, it is looking more and more as an Ouija 2 situation.
The only reason Get Out didn't make my list was because of the very off-putting, awkward trailer. I couldn't take it seriously. It feels more like an offbeat comedy than a horror film.

The only horror films I'm interested in seeing this year are:
Split
A Cure for Wellness
The Belko Experiment
Alien: Covenant
ItMy list is quite short this year. Not a lot of intriguing films.

A.V. Club says that Bryan Cranston had positive things to say about this movie. He is also on the payroll for the movie, and there has been almost nothing said about Zordon at this point.
I never listen to the people who are involved with the film, nor do I pay attention to celebrities who are given free screenings. I listen to what the Everyman says once its in theaters. Sometimes I make judgment calls before the movie comes out....which I've been doing for the last three months.

It's not even February yet. I think that's when they're going to unleash the marketing beast. Either that or late January.
At least, that's how they did it when they were building up to Godzilla's release in late March and throughout April.

New video. Weird. I want a VR experience with something like this.
