  1. @cayommagazine Abby Ryder Fortson (Ant Man and The Wasp) and Harrison Ford (Star Wars franchise, The Secret Life Of Pets 2) will voice the titular Pixie and Brutus in the upcoming Infinite Studios adaption. Don Hall (Winnie The Pooh, Big Hero 6) is attached to direct the film. It is unknown if the film is going to be animated or a live action hybrid but the studio is leaning towards the former.
  2. I found out about the E grade according to an article: https://amp.businessinsider.com/why-there-is-no-e-grade-2014-9 In the 1930s, as the letter-based grading system grew more and more popular, many schools began omitting E in fear that students and parents may misinterpret it as standing for “excellent.” Thus resulting in the A, B, C, D, and F grading system. According to mentalfloss.com, “Recent surveys show that letter grades are [now] the most common grades used in elementary and secondary schools and two- and four-year colleges and universities.”

  6. I'd love to see them try something new with the remakes, like for The Emperor's New Groove wouldn't work in live action so try the original pitch, Kingdom of the Sun which would work better in live action and be a musical. Or take films that didn't work and improve on them, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet and make them into PG-13 franchise starters as their fan base is very miniscule and would be cool with it, as well as the fact Disney can have some more remakes with actual longetivity. But knowing Disney, they'd rather do safe options that use nostalgia as their only tool would use the 2010s library in the 2030s. Hopefully people like Mulan enough that Disney can try something new with the remake.
  7. No one is blaming Disney as it has nothing to do with them, but there is a pattern of counterprogramming and especially of the comedy/drama variety even ones with good reviews flatlining.
  8. But it’s not like other studios aren’t doing better as again a lot of studios do make strong films.
  9. The last time a live action comedy did $100M+ was Girls Trip In 2017, there were also a lot of good comedies like Long Shot and Booksmart as well. Hell, TOG said a long list of mid budget films with strong reception getting screwed.
  10. People are saying Cinema is dead not just because of TLK but a lot of other factors, comedy, drama and mid budget films are dying, the only thing surviving are Disney’s films and most of them are their IPs, and the only times they try original films are through animation. Admittedly there’s a lot of frustration of not just one studio that seems to take the least amount of risks is dominating the game but the only things doing big business are superheroes and animated remakes. Animation is much stronger than ever which make me happy but it’s sad that only that industry is succeeding with original films and even then due to real stigma that animation has as purely children’s entertainment, it’s really hard to find an all ages affair. No one is saying your opinion or anyone else’s is wrong for liking Disney. Apart from their remakes, Disney is the best at the blockbuster game creating grade A product most of the time and all of them are inoffensive. And yes, without Disney, theaters would struggle, though it’s plausible something could take its place but nowhere as strong. But do you see a film like E.T. or Titanic being as big in this era or even happening.
  11. That’s his opinion though. I liked Suicide Squad and still think it’s the best CBM of 2016, and many members give me shit about it, and I easily understand why others don’t like it and the problems with it, but I don’t get in a funk because someone does it like it or if the audience does or doesn’t like it. I mean I thought Aladdin was going to be awful and it’s one of the few Disney remakes I like.
