Considering how cheap SPA movies are thanks to Imageworks Vancouver move (both Emoji and Village were $50M.) and considering WAG's relationship with Imageworks, I wouldn't be surprised if TTG had a CGI component with a budget around $40M-$50M.
In summer 2018, there's 5 superhero movies which is 1 less than the amount in 2016.
Infinity War 5/4/18
Deadpool 2 6/1/18
Incredibles 2 6/15/18
Ant Man 2 7/6/18
Teen Titans Go! 7/27/18
It's not just Ninjago. It's Storks, it's LOTG, it's Dolphin Tale. Warner's September family films have never gone over $100M domestic. Ninjago had the best chance and arguably most advantageous and that failed badly.
For the record I'm thinking $70M-$80M for both of WAGs films.
I am against this. This is going to be shit. The sad thing about this is it can do decent business throughout the summer. It can even outgross Smallfoot for WAG's top animation of the year.
I can already tell this'll be worse than Ninjago unless someone good like Lord and Miller steps in. It can be there Emoji/Minions. The show is honestly worse than anything Illumination put out in terms of pandering.
