  1. I understand it and the majority does too (even my 7 year old cousin) but it's still horribly executed and the majority understands that too.
  2. I'm going to wait for a trailer to judge but I can see it having surprisingly strong legs.
  3. http://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/23115-hard-as-rock-jumanji-over-night-at-the-museum-domestic/#comment-2808738
  4. WrathOfHan liked Boss Baby and I'm going on a limb here and guessing a few others.
  5. Dreamworks, Blue Sky, Warner Animation, Laika, Sony Animation and even Paramount/Nickelodeon have all done at least two films that is fantastic or A level imo. Illumination has one and that's Sing and that's an A-. DM1 and DM2 are solid Bs and everything else is mediocre to trash.
  6. I'm kind of mixed on Illumination. I don't hate it with a burning passion like @WrathOfHan but I'm not supporting mediocrity either. DM1, DM2, and Sing are good films, Lorax I actually like, the rest range from mediocre to trash. (Pets > Minions > Hop).
  7. Norm of The North is way worst than any animated film last year.
  8. Glassless 3D would be more than enough to get Avatar 2 past $3B WW.
  9. So South Park, The Killing Joke, Family Guy, Sausage Party, Robot Chicken, and countless other adult animation is meant for kids in mind.
  10. Captain Underpants is probably the best animated movie of the year tied with Lego Batman.
  11. The whole animation = made for kids argument kind of degrades animation as a whole.
  12. I've taken my little cousins to every Illumination movie since DM2 also. Even though I disliked Minions, at least they had some fun. However Norm of The North was so godawful even the kids thought it was okay.
  13. Dory, Pets and Toy Story 3 had 3.5x+ multiples with an OW over $105M.
  14. I was talking about DM3 box office. A sub 3x multiple for an animated film is not only bad but rare, only 4 of the top 100 animated films in America has had this happen. However Minions did excellently at the box office, but when you look at domestic, I'm not denying it had a great haul but it had poor legs.
