We have officially reached the "everyone is over it and wants things to get back to normal" stage of the strike.

tbh the actor's union, out of all the unions, being ridiculously overdemanding at first would fit perfectly in line with the common perception that Hollywood is full of inflated egos.

I can envision Clooney sitting down with Fran with a cup of Nespresso and saying 'Fran, just get this done!'

The biggest people that have been screwed over because of these strikes are crew members. They have been given the short end of the stick and have all been out of work for the last 6 to 7 months.

I'm not siding with AMPTP but some of the demands of SAG just need to be cut because you're not seeing 2% revenue from streaming, that's just not gonna happen. You're also not gonna be payed to go out and audition, that is ridiculous.

At best you could maybe get .025% of streaming revenue and that's only if your show or movie is big.

Truthfully, only the biggest names in acting, directing etc can negotiate a percent of revenue deal, SAG can't realistically expect all their members to get a cut of revenue from streaming, not all actors are created equal.

  3. Honestly, the list was difficult to get to 100, WDAS alone was hard to cut that down to 20.

It's not my all time favourite Disney film but I think that Mary Poppins was Walt's crowning achievement in terms of bringing everything he'd done on animation and live action into one film and the determination to get it to screen.

Inside the Breakdown of SAG-AFTRA and Studio Talks (thewrap.com)

Absolutely insane that SAG thought the AMPTP would even entertain this when nothing even remotely similar was offered to any of the other guilds. They're 100% gonna need to back down that demand.

To me, the proposal by SAG is actually nuts because it could very easily be abused and TBH some actors probably aren't keen on sharing the wealth.

I am really trying to think who it is based on upcoming movies. Brie Larson for Marvels. Have not seen her anywhere.  Joaquin for Napoleon? Timothy for Wonka?  Jason for Aquaman. Those are the biggest stars left for the year. Interesting.

The only actress that has done promo for a film is Anne Hathaway but that was approved by SAG as it was an independent movie. Everyone else has been promoting plays, books etc

I was wondering how they did this because I'm watching going "Half of these OG voice actors must be dead." I know they just took a clip of Rafiki just now from Lion King.

Once Upon A Studio...it's charming, and I'm surprised they acknowledged my favorite character(s) because they aren't the lead of the movie(s).

In regards to Once Upon A Studio:

I've read there's a scene with Mickey talking to Walt's photo which sounds quite emotional [/quote]

So depressing if true. . Next year is going to be such a cluster F for movies. Can't even get exited about anything.  Covid delays were almost preferable because they had no choice due to closed movie theaters due to health guidelines.  This time there will be open theaters with at some point not much to play because of this bullshit.

I do think you need calm down a little, it will get resolved.

This smells more like that short term blowup in the WGA talks than the longer term blowup that started the SAG strike back in July.

Not sayin' it will happen, but could see talks resuming again next week or within 10 days or so after a bit of a cooling off period.

I do think they should have the talks at a location that isn't the AMPTP offices or the SGA offices and none of this day on, day off business. To me, the lack of urgency from both sides needs to go.

  10. 42 minutes ago, XXR's Eras Tour said:

$10-20M is the reported number. Variety estimated a few days ago that Taylor had already made $60M from pre-sales alone.

There's always money to be made from concert tours but many artists don't want to film their tours for some reason. Don't get me wrong, it's better seeing concerts live but the cost can be very expensive.

You can just quote me if you want to address anything I say. Do you think "Leo Dicaprio is a charismatic fraudster who gets rich on Wall Street, lives the American dream and gets hunted down by the FBI to get his comeuppance" is a less accessible theme than "Leo Dicaprio looks concerned while lots of Native Americans get murdered for making too much oil money, and Jesse Plemons starts investigating"?

Btw, Deadline is agreeing with me and projecting a 24m opening weekend for KOTFM: ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Eyes $24 Million Box Office Opening In U.S. – Deadline

I know Deadline has been wrong a ton of times for many, many reasons (including political/industry friendliness related reasons), but it's not like I'm totally alone with my feeling. I think Eras will be comfortably above 24m in its second weekend

The Wolf of Wall Street even with the long runtime had a great hook for audiences. It made $289m OS alone
