I like seeing people paid well but...
I can't argue with this. But that Glendale facility...the building is pretty. And they get free lunch.
I've always thought the Glendale building was a tad overindulgent but I guess DWA were on a roll until recently,

DWA needs to budget with the expectation that their films will make 125-150 dom. So give them 75-100m budgets then that gives them enough room to be profitable with whatever OS is. Then they might actually be successful again. Their days of being able to give everything a 125-175m budget are behind them for the time being.
I agree but I don't think they could slash their budget to $75m without closing down the main Glendale campus and outsourcing everything to China and India and apparently the studio in India hasn't been all that successful, Penguins of Madagascar was originally meant to be animated solely in India but fell behind schedule so they needed help from PDI which increased the budget.
It's amazing how films like Storks, Pets etc can have almost half the budget of a DWA film but still look decent.

Doubtful, she probably won't be Batgirl in the film, and I seriously doubt she's gonna be Batman's love interest, considering the film's target audience, that would just be bizarre and wrong.
It wouldn't be the first time they've had an older Barbara Gordon and a young Dick Grayson, The Batman animated series did it before,

We don't seem to have a solid number yet, but anywhere between 40-45 would be good for it considering up until recently I don't even think 30m was looking likely.
I think DWA has to accept the days of big OW are likely over for now. They've had a better year this year even with KFP3 underperforming and Trolls will be profitable and get a Netflix spin-off but no sequel.

Given how SFX heavy Doctor Strange is, it's not surprising the budget is over $165m, I imagine now Ike has been banished from the MCU, Feige can ask for bigger budgets.
It'll be interesting how Thor will fare next year since it'll face Justice League two weeks later, it'll is the first time that WB and Marvel have had films in the same month.

Where were the Gremlins sets when I was a kid?
The movie tie ins are Lego's most lucrative sets, the Star Wars sets saved the company.

17, about 75% of CWLS
Considering OLS has double the capacity, to not even be the top fifteen isn't good.

That's true, I imagine Cineworld LS has eaten into its attendance thanks to the IMAX screen showing the same film which would have been been exclusive to OLS.

Top engagements
all DS
1-Imax Southbank
2-Vue Westfield London
3-Vue Strathford
4-CW Glasgow

(combined with Odeon LS would be #2)
6-CW Sheffield
7-Odeon Manchester
8-CW Dublin
9-CW Birmingham Broad
10-Odeon LiverpoolBFI IMAX is still the one to beat considering it's limited by showtimes and capacity. Cineworld LS did very well to beat OLS, where did that chart?

I thought we had a fair few go over £30m that year?
I think the top five were all £30m including Inbetweeners 2 and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes but nothing broke out in a big way.

Been a pretty good spread of cash this year, even if we haven't had any uber blockbusters yet. Kinda like 2013 and 14.
2014 was a terrible year for blockbusters, The Hobbit, Paddington and The Lego Movie saved that year

Must have a got a nice huge rebate from Georgia.
Florida probably had a good tax rebate for filming in Tampa

Expensive.
But the cinematography looks great...so...
For a period gangster film, that's pretty good and it's on par with the budgets of Sully and American Sniper. I thought it would be closer to $100m budget wise.

Sing doesn't need a huge opening thanks to the holidays, it could have a $45m 3 day opening and still get to $200m+.
I don't think the final trailer was as good as the previous trailer but I think it look like a better film than Pets, going for a different director and writer makes it seem less formulaic. It won't make as much OS as Pets but it will be profitable. I

DC Rebirth has been hugely successful and i imagine WB hopes Johns can do the same for the DCEU. Losing Famuyiga is not good but it seems the split is amicable, the new director must be announced soon, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a clash of visions similar to what happened with Michelle MacLaren on Wonder Woman.

The Live action elements I imagine will be Eggman and some of the set but Sonic and co will be CG.

I wouldn't be surprised if a replacement director is announced fairly soon. I imagine the project's delayed anyway since they won't make the January start date.

Well, that's a freaking shame.
It happens all the time, sure, but still, I was curious about his version of this movie. I hope they get a good replacement.
Doesn't The Flash have no release date at the moment, it was replaced by Tomb Raider so I have a feeling this might have happened a while ago but they've sitting on the news,

That movie is close to $200M worldwide. Wut.
I wish it had done much better here. Cute movie.
Most of that is just from the UK!

Inferno is to Sony what Bridget Jones was to Universal, a film made primarily made for overseas and domestic is just gravy. It'll break even or perhaps scrape a profit but I think this is it for the Langdon series

Yeah it looks like Warner or maaaaybbeee Universal.
MGM have a better relationship with WB, they haven't yet partnered on a film with Universal

They'll still distribute Spidey. They're working on a new MIB (both a Jump Street mash-up or a regular version just in case) and they will fight to keep Bond (tho that is a long shot, granted). Not an ideal position but hardly "no franchises"
I have a feeling that Bond will go to Warner Bros, Sony made very little profit despite funding the majority of the budget and handling P&A

Pretty sure Inferno was always supposed to be a domestic sacrificial lamb. It's telling this one got dumped on some random end-of-October weekend when the first two received prime summer spots.
The lower budget suggests that Sony knew it wasn't going to make money domestic, it's already over $100m OS so it'll be profitable even with a low domestic total

Considering it's not a sequel, £9-10m would be great for a Marvel film.
