To be precise, $2 billion requires around a 77% increase from FFH. I know that seems like an extremely difficult ask for a sequel, but NWH should be treated more like an Avengers-level event at this point rather than just another Spider-Man film. Now it's certainly possible that it underperforms significantly relative to its unprecedented trailer views, but I'll wait until presales start before ruling anything out of the realm of possibility.

Trailer views do not necessarily indicate that it's treated like endgame. It's absolutely not a culmination anything even remotely similar to endgame. The extra cast members and Doctor strange makes it super attractive and I can't wait to see it. However the anticipation for me on this is maybe an 8 in comparison for end game. Even Infinity war was a 9.

Both got over 90%, quality doesn't matter in this case, it'll get great reception anyway.

Needs more than great reception to hit 2b even without a pandemic. Needs universal love. I swear people think it's frickin easy

Titanic rereleased like 5 times and had girls going to see it 10 times. Avatar had the best 3d adoption rate ever. Hell I'm still not convinced avatar 2 has 2b locked.

Spider-man fans on twitter calling it bigger movie than Endgame :bouncy:

This is why I think the 2 billion comment is insane. Is it possible I guess if everything went perfect before the pandemic maybe but even then you're talking about a 50% leap from the last film that came right after end game.

Sure if it has a rotten tomatoes of 99% but somehow I doubt that given the quality of FFH.

Okay so easily 1 billion worldwide now right?

I just hope China doesn't screw Spider-Man like it has the rest of the Disney films lately.

It did 200 million in China and frankly I think if it was a better film it would have done 250 for FFH.

I would love to see another movie hit a billion get the movie theater industry back in place where it should be

This the first truly huge movie since Covid began, it will get lots of buzz. We'll see how it translates.

ZERO reason to think this was outperforming post ENDGAME FFH though

I mean I'm ok with assuming it equals that or slightly does better due to Christmas date. But yeah it's kinda cringy to say omg 2B obviously! It has to do amazing basically everywhere and go crazy in China and USA. Easier said than done.

Black panther went insane in the US and didn't even sniff 2B. I'm super pumped to see this and I am massive spiderman nerd.

This is an easy 1.5B movie pre pandemic. The Christmas release date + wayyyyy more hype than FFH.

1.5 max maybe it never even sniffed anything even close to that but I'll give you 1.5. That's 500 million from 2B

Only Infinity war and endgame even sniffed that for superhero films.

The Falcon & the Winter Soldier had exciting action scenes but really fumbled its attempts at social commentary (which I'm gonna guess was also added during the shutdown given the other kinds of stories that dominated the news during that time). That said, I'm completely here for Anthony Mackie getting his own solo Captain America vehicle. Hopefully that big paycheck also promised theatrical exclusivity lol.

I mean people loved wanda vision despite almost every episode being horrible. I can't wait. Can't wait for scarlet witch movie either.

Now, while I semi-agree with the 1st statement, ummm, have you forgotten the ending to Green Lantern?  I haven't:)...

Nope. But I literally disliked basically every scene of this movie. It wasn't just silly it was stupid. Did bad in theaters because it was awful. The first suicide squad was way better which is shocking. This was justice league bad then much worse. Even that had plenty of good parts

Loved GOTG, liked gotg 2 and the cast and director were good selections. What a disaster. Bop was awesome by comparison 😂

It has great potential energy but I feel its too bloated at this point. Look at the sales over past 5 years. There is very little growth. Great Companies(Look at topline of AAPL/AMZN/MSFT/NVDA/GOOG/FB etc), they keep growing their topline and I would like to see with DIS. But they may have to prune some of the capital intensive business. Let us see where Chapek takes us. I am still invested in it.

It's going to be absolutely nuts the next few years at the parks and cruises. Insane pent up demand.

    Then streaming will improve

I love all of those companies and sales force and DocuSign. I don't own Nvidia but I own the semi conductor index (ticker smh). I need to sell other crap and buy more amzn/good/nvda. I have way too much apple/DocuSign/from/fscebookl/msft. Over 20% of my total portfolio lol. Not my fault pandemic did it 😂

Too chicken and my company forbid me to (strongly discouraged) to own amc/gme. So I own the stocks who rent property to them (epr/Mac)

I'm excited to take my daughter as well. It's not my favorite show of hers that she watches, but I'm excited to take her to her first movie to something she really wants to see

I took my daughter all the time in England. My little pony twice, Peppa pig the movie, trolls, the Grinch, Ralph 2, among others. Sunday had a family $1.50 USD special. I'd buy popcorn/drink coupons online. $10 total. I miss you England.
