Caring a out movies and spending the money to go watch movies in the theater are two different things. I watch primarily blockbusters in the theaters but watch smaller movies on rentals or streaming.
Theater going isn’t cheap.
2.5-2.6 predictions are coming entirely from people who are simply scared by large, record breaking numbers. The method by which IW broke the opening record should have signaled to everyone that 2.5 or thereabouts is not the baseline we should be looking at, but rather a 3x of Avengers 1. But like I said, people simply are too scared when it comes to huge numbers.
People expecting TFA weekdays is foolish in all senses. To compete with Christmas holidays in a random week in April?
25m is a better hold than Avengers 1, which did 3x
Because IW changed its release date very late in the game and nobody responded because 1.) they don’t want anything to do with IWs weekend 2 and 2.) it was too late to change.
It baffles me how some people think he’s going to leave marvel for ANYTHING. He’s not going to leave for Star Wars, he’s not leaving for freaking DC. Look at his history. He’s a marvel guy through and through. He’s lifted this franchise above and beyond even Star Wars at this point. He’s getting his dream with XMen and F4 returning to Marvel.
I think Marvel Studios will increase in responsibility. Maybe add animation, some smaller budget fare.
