    AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019)A+

I hoped for it, but didn’t want to get my hopes up. Especially since the comscore ratings were similar to IW. But yeah, absolutely deserved. This movie is the gift that keeps on giving. Ridiculous on every level.

  2. Endgame, per Deadline:

    Quote

Screen Engine/ComScore PostTrak exits exploded with 5 stars and a huge 83% definite recommend. Parents gave the pic 4 stars, and kids under 12 were pleased, giving it 5 stars. General audiences made up 79% of the crowd, with kids numbering 11% and parents at 9%. Leading general demos were men over 25 at 35% (90% positive), men under 25 at 30% (loved it the most at 94%), with females under and over 25 equally split at 18% (women under loved it at 90%, while over gave the pic 89%).

Fifty-four percent of those who watched Thanos and company last night said it’s part of a franchise they like, while close to a third said they’re going to see it a second time in a theater, with 27% saying they’ll buy the Russo Brothers-directed sequel on Blu-Ray.

Diversity breakdowns were 44% Caucasian, 22% Hispanic, 15% African American (they gave Endgame a 100% score) and 15% Asian.

    M>25: 90*.35 = 31.5

    M<25: 94*.30 = 28.2

    F>25: 90*18 = 16.2

    F<25: 89*18 = 16.02

    Total: 91.92% overall positive

    Pretty similar to AIW:

PostTrak reporting a massive 83% definite recommend, besting Captain America: Civil War‘s buzz (75%).

Screen Engine/ComScore’s PostTrak scores are huge, showing 93% overall positive so far, which bests the positive score for both Avengers: Age of Ultron (90%) and Captain America: Civil War (88%). Five amazing stars for Infinity War. Audience makeup is 66% guys to 34% females, which is the same breakdown as Civil War. Fifty-eight percent are over 25 for Infinity War versus 51% over 25 for Civil War and 55% under 25 for Age of Ultron.

Think Endgame will get an A CinemaScore as well.

Those that have just walked out of their showings, without spoilers, how wild did your crowd get throughout the movie

Lots of cheers and applause at several moments. IW had cheers during the movie, but most weren’t in the mood to applaud after the movie. Not the case with Endgame. Applause multiple times after the movie ended.

  5. Spoiler

I actually got annoyed with Sansa this episode. Some are praising her for not backing Dany, but it’s so stupid to be doing all this posturing and political rivalry when the freaking dead army is marching towards them. Lyanna acted the same way, which surprised me. The other lords seem to care more about who the ruler is than how they can survive. That Jon had to spell it out for them and they still didn’t get it is ridiculous. Like we get it, you don’t like anyone from the south, but when you don’t have the numbers to fight an army 100k strong, you set differences aside and work together. I just thought Sansa would be more sensible about it given how much she’s learned and grown. She was right though about Tyrion being stupid enough to trust Cersei. Other than the Jon Snow reveal, not much happened. Guessing next episode will be similar until the last 4 longer episodes.

  6. I watched the first season back when it premiered but lost interest when I read about the book spoilers for the Red Wedding. Didn’t think I’d be into watching my favorite characters die for multiple seasons. But it’s finally ending and all my friends are so into it and were constantly trying to talk me into watching it. So I finally watched it all last week. Caught up in 1 week and I’m so pumped for this season. It took me till Season 3 before I really got into it, but I was hooked since.

I like Dany and Jon (shame they’re related), but I think they’ll both die. Cersei HAS to die! And Jamie can go either way. I think Sansa will sit on the throne with Arya as her Kingsguard and Tyrion as her Hand or maybe husband?  He’s the only unrelated man who who’s really treated her with respect. Sansa grew so much over the seasons and I think she has what it takes to rule competently. Dany and Arya would be too bloodthirsty and Jon is good at commanding respect, but not great at ruling. Oh and the Night King/White Walker stuff is the most boring part of this show. So hopefully that gets resolved quickly.

This is a fair point to make...just don’t know how specifying Disney helps their case. Especially since their latest movie was rotten. I see no reason why RT wouldn’t highlight a rotten Disney movie similarly. The issue is with how RT announces the scores, but that tweet seems disingenuous with the ‘Disney’ part thrown in there.

  8. Just watched the movie and really liked it. I’ll probably see it again. Brie was fantastic, as were the other cast members and I thought the action and music were great. I was getting worried it wouldn’t be as good as hoped with some of the comments and reviews online, but it was much better than I was led to believe. Of course I was looking forward to it, so I’m just glad I ended up liking it. Honestly not sure what’s in it to hate or rage about, but that’s whatever.

I’ve taken a step back from online fandoms and this site over the past month and since TLJ, it seems things just continue to get worse. It’s been nice to come on here and look at numbers, but all the other stuff has become frustrating noise. I’m glad CM is doing well box office wise and hope it continues to do so. Looking forward to Endgame.
