Well you know it goes both ways. For every critic like this there's another that will give a fresh score because it's an MCU movie.

Marvel movies have little to no artistic value. They are passable popcorn entertainment designed to print money. MCU fans always had the box office to defend their slop which made them very giddy. Now it has come back to bite them in the ass.

Marvel has delivered mediocre shlock for 15 years and enjoyed a great success doing so. Some people might want to see something else dominate.

Captain Marvel's RT score is from before they added verified ratings. It has twice as many user reviews as Endgame does because it was heavily brigaded and the reason why there's verified ratings in the first place.

The Marvels is a sequel to a movie that opened to $154M. It's hard to spin a 50% drop as positive.
