    Someone who's not into Star Wars probably has no desire to watch a Han Solo movie. Those markets won't ever do well until Disney makes a movie that stands on its own and is not filled to the brim with nostalgia.

    To me GOTG movies work on their own, while Solo isn't anything special once you remove the Star Wars name. It's anecdotal of course, but as a very casual Star Wars fan I'd much rather wait 2 weeks and see Jurassic World 2, than pay to watch a movie about a character doing things we already know he did.

    I don't think a movie like Solo stands on its own. Without the nostalgia and the familiar characters/references it's just another generic sci-fi movie. That's why there is no real growth in a lot of places.

    TLJ definitely is the reason it started low in the first place, doubt it will recover much from here though.

    Time for a Fast and Furious movie in space... set in the Star Wars universe. That ought to get at least the Chinese watching.

    Same here, but also because a Han Solo origin doesn't interest me in the slightest. I skimmed through a cam rip, so I can definitely say I made the right decision.

    She made a video about TLJ doing poorly there saying "Box Office rich China is lost to this franchise" so even she's not that delusional.
