Absolutely remarkable Saturday number for IW. Wouldn't be shocking to see its Sunday come close to 70 million either.

The last few pages of this thread definitely would've broken every box office record if it was released as a drama. I have to lurk more often.

Heck of a 3rd weekend for A Quiet Place. And BP continues to be a monster. Ridiculous hold. Expecting another excellent hold next weekend with IW and $700m will be squarely in its sight... er, claws. People love to underestimate this film and if IW is going to attract some of the audience that showed up for Black Panther, those ppl will definitely do double features themselves before IW. I know friends who already have grandparents planning on doing this who are not the usual movie going types but the presence of Wakanda in IW has them making an exception and checking out Panther again beforehand.

It's amazing how people with their agendas constantly make it a point to derail Black Panther related threads. Not only has the film been a wildly successful critical and financial success, it's succeeded in bothering so many people whose intentions are as transparent as Marvel's antagonists prior to Phase 3. Pathetic and so childish.

So that means Deathly Hallows is still a possibility WW and it should eek over TLJ? 640M-ish Internationally, 695M-ish Domestically? TFA seems like a better comp from here on out in terms of how it will hold going forward since it's pretty easily besting its dailies at this point in its run.

You really need to pick up a dictionary and look up the definition of 'phenomenon'. Regardless of how much you try to convince yourself that the word doesn't apply to Black Panther's run.

Depending on the legs in China, 1.3-1.35b still seems like the most likely range BP should finish at. HP and TLJ are targets more than Frozen.

I am shocked that a movie with a predominantly black cast is doing poorly and getting bad word of mouth in Russia. Shocked. I mean, when I left the country, blackface was still a normalized thing and black soccer players had to endure countless racist insults and chants at soccer matches. So this film appealing to my (former) country's population was never something I expected. Russia gonna Russia.
