If this opens to over $200 million, I wonder if it’ll be the first $200 million opener to not hit $600 million.

....Deadpool is gay. He's hit on men and women in both of the previous movies. The first movie opens with a joke about hitting on Wolverine.
Technically, he’s pansexual, but I think the point is that it’s a pretty lowbrow joke.

So, did Redstone refuse the deal because she stubbornly thinks she can still pull Paramount around?

This movie is a big flop. That’s really all there is to it.

Creature Commandos has apparently been confirmed for December, meaning the DCU will officially begin a full year after the end of the DCEU.

Halloween is completely open and on a Friday next year and the first movie was incredibly front loaded anyway, so I don't see why they're not putting it there. I actually don't think 2025 looks all that impressive right now, aside from a somewhat healthier Q1 lineup and a few Disney IP behemoths. May looks almost as blah as this year
If we got a Spiderverse date that would help
It doesn’t seem like Spider-Verse is making it to 2025, but maybe Spider-Man 4 can.

Can anything even be considered a “spin-off” in the context of the MCU?

I’d like to think this’ll either be the biggest bomb or the breakout hit of 2025, with no in-between.

Might as well schedule it for November 8th or something. The first couple of weeks for November are pretty barren right now.

So, assuming she’s in it, I guess Taylor Swift will be this movie’s equivalent to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in NWH? At least in terms of being a thing that the marketing keeps teasing fans about without outright revealing it?

Seems obvious WB has no idea what to do with this movie or how to market it and are dumping it. They didnt even give it an MLK spot like prior January dumps Green Hornet or Dolittle.
Sounds about right.

All those headlines two years ago about how Will Smith’s career was over are laughable looking back.

“According to test screenings” has become a plague on the industry.

You continue to be pushing this narrative that is not based on any sort of fact. If they have not dropped a trailer for Gladiator 2 by September than that will mean something. Since the first Lost Kingdom trailer did not drop until October
It was actually September when the trailer for Aquaman dropped, so the proper comparison would be August.

Well at any rate at this point I think 50m is a high possibility and 60m is possible if walkups are insane.
Is $50 million not locked at this point?

Fight in the burning building with the big bad.
Reyonds never struck me as someone who has a problem with doing nudity.
I’m sure he doesn’t, but that was never my point.
To be clear, my initial comment was referring to the fact that there’s been a recent stigma against nudity and sex scenes in movies. A lot of Gen Z viewers have been speaking out against it in recent years.
What I was getting at was that if this movie did have sex and nudity in it, then it would’ve inspired more of those annoying debates.

Reynolds was already nude and showed this dong in the first Deadpool.
Was it? It’s been a while since I saw it. I do remember that his bare buttocks were shown, but I don’t remember them showing anything from the front.

Least surprising part is that it only has “sexual references” lol.
The last thing we need is to reignite the debate about nudity and sex scenes in movies over a Marvel film with Ryan Reynolds of all things.

Whatever the budget for MI8 might be, I imagine that the “official” figure they’ll eventually provide will be noticeably smaller than that.

Don’t see why not, both 1 and 2 did 90M and the trailer for 3 just exploded
He says this all the time and is wrong, but even a broken clock get it right once a day
Slight correction, but the first one did $80 million.

I guess I’m just saying she should’ve played Wonder Woman instead of Gadot lol
Well, she obviously would’ve been too young at the time.

Got reminded again when rewatching Anyone but You but Charlee Fraser looks almost exactly like Gal Gadot but is 100x better performer and should’ve had the career she had
She’s 10 years younger than Gal Gadot, and has only been in two films thus far. She can still make a name for herself.

If it wasn’t before, this being a monster hit is officially a foregone conclusion. I don’t know if I would personally consider that to be a promising sign for the future of the genre, or Hollywood in general, though. It’ll likely just convince Hollywood to continue pushing forward with their fixation on nostalgia.
