  1. Did they push it back two weeks to try and create more space away from Barbenheimer or something?
  2. Lionsgate might as well move this to October 6th now. I seriously doubt anyone is going to care about “Saw Patrol.”
  3. This will most likely flop no matter when it’s released. I don’t see how Aaron Taylor Johnson and Russel Crowe being able to promote it will make much of a difference.
  4. Sony delayed the Kraven movie almost an entire year, but they’re scheduling this to come out in less than a year, even though it barely even started filming before the strike? What sense does that make?
  5. Tom Cruise is practically Paramount’s company mascot. No way they’re gonna get rid of him just because a movie that has part one in the title underperformed.
  6. Apparently Gerwig also tried having fart jokes in Lady Bird and Women Talking as well. Between this and the feet thing, I’m starting to think that Ms. Gerwig is an interesting character. Edit: Damnit, I meant Little Women.
  7. I’m someone who is willing to defend Snyder and his movies from a fair amount of the criticisms people throw at them, but there’s no way the Snyderverse as it’s called is coming back, at least not in the form of live action movies. The previous regime at WB had to essentially be strongarmed by the higher ups at AT&T to allow the Snyder Cut to happen, and the current regime doesn’t seem to care for Snyder. I mean, they didn’t even allow that documentary on Max to use footage from ZSJL. Snyder has his own upcoming franchise at Netflix, so I think it’s best for people passionate about his work to support that.
  8. That brings back memories. https://variety.com/2014/film/news/marvel-not-changing-captain-america-3-release-date-1201265214/amp/
  9. Women in China are telling each other to bring their boyfriends to see 'Barbie' — and to use it as a litmus test for their thoughts on feminism and patriarchy
  10. I still can’t fathom how the AMPTP can acknowledge that the strikes are bad for them, but will do anything except negotiate with the unions. Is it really that important that Bob Iger be able to afford his 15 yachts?
  11. Just two weeks ago the AMPTP was all like “let those peasants starve” and now they’re trying to guilt trip the unions into ending the strike. They must be starting to get desperate.
  12. I would normally think this would be a better awards contender than Barbie, but I’m not sure about that at this point, especially if the Academy is really desperate for the ratings. I’m sure a Barbenheimer showdown at the Oscars sounds very appealing to them right now.
  13. I wasn’t in denial, so much as I was trying to see if other people here had anymore insight. If there’s no concrete proof, then I’m willing to accept that the numbers are legitimate.
  14. I did see CNN and CBS report on it, so there’s that. I don’t doubt that there are plenty of nuts who would go out to see this, but the way it jumped ahead like it did in its second weekend is rather unusual.
  15. I mean, a screenshot of a packed theater would be a start. I’ve been hearing reports about weirdos buying out empty screenings and giving away free tickets.
  16. The bombings against Japan are very clearly painted as a less than good thing here. The movie isn’t trying to suggest it was a heroic act of peace.
