    Because no non-Disney film has won it since Shrek. Spirited Away did win in 2003 (which doesn't change my point either way) but it was also distributed by Disney in America and the distributors are the ones who campaign for awards. But let's turn this into a fanboy thread lol.

    Its only getting nominated for Animation. 99% won't win animation. And Wall E and UP are way better than Spiderverse. I mean the first 10 minutes of UP and half of Wall E are revolutionary for animated films.

    Jumanji did fine against TLJ which did really well in Europe (TLJ grossed 111 mil in the UK for example and Jumanji grossed 51 mil there).

    I think OP meant for Christmas week. If there is any affect, it is usually throughout the week and not just on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

    It's around 20 mil less than it was yesterday at the same time. So it should end 240 mil+ I guess.

    Considering that Feng's predictions have been exceeded over the weekend, I think 98 mil total for the weekend is likely. 100 mil could be possible too. I'm guessing 300 mil final gross is happening.

    still not sure about. Would need 25 mil in the next two and half hours. The movie will be getting another 8 mil in the next half hour, 13 mil at 10pm-11 and probably less than 10 from 11 to 12. I feel like 270 is highest. Hope 275 could happen. That would basically confirm beating Civil War's opening weekend

    This is what I expect to happen and why I think the movie won't be as big as these guys make it out to be. Kids aren't going to find this movie interesting. They are a lot more interested in normal CGI animation. Even shit films like Boss Baby and all Illumination films do good because the simple animation is interesting for little kids. The movie will skew towards a more adult audience and I don't think that is very good for the box office of an animated film.

    Uhhh, no. Animated film award is dedicated to Disney films so either Incredibles 2 or Wreck it Ralph 2 will get it. Most likely the former because more people watched it. Too bad though because both those movies were ass. Personally, Isle of Dogs should win but Spiderverse is a great option.

    Chance it beats Civil War for opening weekend? Saturdays and Sundays are having good increases also.

    Why do you guys still think the movie will have only a 2.5x multiplier if it is so well received? Shouldn't it have legs like Ready Player One (3.5x)? I don't see the movie making less than $200 mil with this type of reception. I believe 3x is very likely.
