Under the first deal even the then newly at Sony arriving ~ studio boss had no say at all in the MCU movies, under the new deal Marvel pays and gets 25%

There is also talks about the possibility of Holland‘s Spidey crossing over to Sony‘s Marvel movies, the wordings make it IMHO very clear that Holland‘s Spider Man belongs to the MCU

It‘s a special case, there are always exceptions from rules

Spider-Man belongs and ONLY belongs to Sony and yes that includes Tom Holland’s version who was cast by them in the first place. He works for Sony. Sony allowing Disney to use him in avengers is irrelevant.. I’ve already addressed why that doesn’t change anything in the posts below.

Believe what you want but my actual point is NWH’s success has little to do with what’s happening in the MCU. The characters from previous successful Sony Spider-Man movies is what made NWH a success. Outside of that if you look at disney/marvel movies in 2021 whether it’s eternals or Shang-chi they didn’t generate anything like the hype or success.

If cute that you think you proved a point here.

I am sure that Feige and Disney see it as an MCU film even if Sony is the one distributing it. But, I think you are being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian and don't actually believe the nonsense you're typing.

Who owns the rights to Spider-Man?

    Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures own, finance, distribute, and exercise final creative control over the Spider-Man films.

When the literal main character of the movie is being called a "cameo" LMAO

He is a cameo, the title of the movie should spell it out for you. He’s only there briefly as a plot device to open the portal then Spider-Man literally removes him from his movie. Now Spider-Man’s friend has the portal powers so he served his purpose.

The trailer looks bad, so I'm not surprised. I really hope this bombs along with other Spider projects they are doing on their own, so Sony realizes that Kevin Feige is the way to go.

Spider-Man NWH and Venom 2 (both Sony films) outgrossed every MCU film last year. There’s no way Sony is giving Spider-Man and Co up haha

Except that NWH is an MCU film. And, Disney still got 25% of the profits. I guess you can argue it's both an MCU and Spider-Verse movie, but NWH is a true MCU movie with MCU characters from other movies like Doctor Strange and Happy.

NWH is a Sony film. Sony doesn’t release MCU flicks. Just because two Disney characters cameo in Sony’s spider-verse that doesn’t change that just like when Sony let’s Spider-Man cameo in the MCU films like the avengers it doesn’t suddenly make them Sony films.

Legs the last 10 days have been less than amazing, with the last 5 days partially not great. I am firmly in the mind that the film is being both well received and rejected for full 2nd viewings by many due to length and pace. Mind won't change here, either.

The Batman 2 needs to be a tighter, faster film with a bit more action. Tone and everything can remain, but those 2 changes are definitely needed.

And most importantly no 45 day window

I still think this opens around The Batman numbers. Maybe even a tad above it. This could obviously change once presale data comes out

We’ve not actually had a “MCU film” open above 100 million yet since the pandemic so I think this prediction is spot on.

NWH was “Sony’s Spider-Verse” movies of Spider-Men and villains bringing in three movies worth of fans and hype.

HBOMax is not Warner Bros. theatrical.  They are two different entities and theatrical fucking hates HBOMax.  They have jobs and are judged and bonused on what films gross in theaters.  They have separate marketing.

Yes but whoever is making the decisions to make every film get 45’d in 2022 obviously hasn’t learnt there lesson from making every film a HBOMAX day and date release in 2021. They’ve shot themselves in both feet now by not making it a case by case basis after the disaster last year.
