Higher. Perhaps.
Inflation and exchange rate adj Titanic (excl 3D) would be $51mn in India compared to $12mn originally. Including 3D would be around $58mn approx compared to $17mn.
Inflation and Inflation of movie ticket rates are two different thing IMO. In India, ticket rated inflation is far higher than CPI. Some countries it will be vice versa.
In Asian countries yes and that's where Avatar 2 gonna blast. In India, however its Hollywood that's grown, Bollywood is going down.
In West, not so much. Their markets are as big as they were in 90s. Titanic still holds record in many countries over Avatar in terms of admissions and very close or bigger in $s.
Why not do worldwide admission count 😛
1. Avatar did bulk of its business in higher ticket price country compared to EG. Even Infinity War might be close competitor.
2. Avatar had ofcourse better exchange rate and is basically $2.35B at today's rate.
The latter. The lame way.
On that note, the inflation and exchange rate adjusted Avatar will be $31mn Approx in India compared to $24mn Approx in 2009.
Just Exchange rate adjusted would be $15mn Approx.
Good thing being, the hourly numbers were almost back to normalcy on Tuesday, so we shall not have that big drop on Wednesday which I was thinking of after way too big Monday.
