Just to tell, how ER has fucked other films, for this case Endgame and favoured Avatar. Its not only, that Avatar will gross less today but Endgame has lost a lot. E.g. Endgame will gross lc$325mn Approx in Brazil, today that's just about $75mn, back in 2009 rates, that will be $200mn. Similarly India will gross ₹425-450cr, today's that's just $62-65mn, back in Avatar days, that will be $100mn. Same goes for Mexico, Russia, Canada, Australia. I don't feel too sure about it, may be @salvador-232 will give better idea, but Argentina is heading for lc$800mn, today that will be just $18mn approx. At 2009 ER, that is $220mn.

FF8 was unlucky with ER. ¥2.7B with normal ER is 410m while with favourable ER its 430 Approx. Endgame is certainly more than half, considering WW2 did 145mn admits, EG will be closing at 85-90m. Ceiling for Hollywood would be around 110-120mn I guess.

In one sense, the ceiling is still there. Endgame will do just 20% more admits than F8. Regarding that 2.92 thing, I still see it doing 3B with 41m Friday and TFA ain't lost just yet. We were spoiled by the great weekdays holds, now we are just back to normalcy in last two days. And I did mentioned yesterday in Thursday thread,

Since the avg growth globally is about 35% for the film, allowing for that raise in China over IW would still be $485mn. China seems to close at $625mn, that would be $140mn hypothetical over-performance. So only if Endgame do only $2.92 Billion, it will be China's fault. And since, many felt Infinity War underperformed in China, that number could be even lower, for instance, China's neighbour India will be growing 50% approx on Infinity War and so will be most of countries in South East Asia.

If it really come 41, that will be the 2nd biggest I am off from actuals. The biggest I was $5mn (6%) lower than actuals for Endgame Friday and today $3mn (7%) higher than actuals. Also its very low. That said still waiting for actual update in 2-3 hours.

WW2 has 145mn admits iirc, that would be ¥40 ATP. Endgame has ¥50 so far which is higher than normal. Hollywood films usually have higher ATP as local films will be doing much better in lower tiers of cities. That's case in India as well, Endgame will barely have 60% admits of Dangal but Gross will be around 90% and Dangal did considerably better in Tier A cities. Ratio will be worse for a Salman Khan film like Tiger Zinda Hai, whose gross will be same or higher as Endgame but admits will be around 75%. Weirdly FF8 has a very okayish ATP. I wonder if they didn't release it in 3D or something because the ratio of contribution from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities is actually less than Endgame.

First Hollywood film over 75mn admits. Not sure if its first Foreign film, as I read about an Indian film Carvan having 88mn admissions. I am not sure about that number though. If that film did that much, may be some old classic Hollywood film also managed that.
