Another great episode but the so-called 'Mandarin' they were speaking is atrocious and really took me out of for a minute.

Just got mine after trying for 5 hours. I think they finally fixed the glitch.

Well AMC is a disaster. Both the app and website refuses to let me check out. I've been trying to half an hour

The mother is basically every Asian mother, very typical. Actually the most unrealistic part of Ming is that she actually apologized to Mei in the end. Chinese parents don't apologize to their kids, they just say well it was for your own good you should appreciate how much we care, how ungrateful you are for not appreciating what we do for you. Actually I've read reviews from China where people are complaining that the mother is unrealistic for being too understanding and supportive.

It's a holiday long weekend that's why. People worked on Saturday and then got Sun-Tuesday off.

Feige already made his opinion on the Sonyverse pretty clear with the Venom credit scene in NWH. He is nowhere near this.

Putin is defending his country. The best defence is the attack
Look, i was with Ukraine when this war started, but the issue is complicated
Yeah, like Hitler was defending his country when he attacked Poland? Like Japan was protecting itself when it annexed Korea and invaded China? Disgusting and shameful attempt to absolve imperialist invaders

Perhaps not that much has changed since the 20th century.
Human beings don't change. Whatever lessons learned from history is forgotten in a century. Or less.

Spring break already? It's mid-winter break this week for NYC public schools.

Those are all first age, this show is second.
Finrod is (apparently) in the trailer so there will be some flashbacks to the First Age.

I hope this show can get me to finally remember who's who between all the F elves, especially Fingolfin, Finarfin, Finrod and Fingon. I can never remember how they're related and what they did.

It occurs to me that I was way too low on all my predictions for NWH so might be over-compensating this time around for The Batman. I really can't judge how hyped the GA are, but one of my usual movie buddies bowed out from watching this. So maybe I need to adjust downwards.

That's either Taiwan or HK, definitely not Mainland China, because it's in Traditional Chinese and not Simplified.

And then so are Tony, Doctor Strange and many more in MCU.
Well there are plenty of people who think Tony is the true villain of the MCU so...

Wanda is clearly heavily influenced by the Darkhold by this point, that's why she said that line in that way. But she still has a point. She didn't create Westview intentionally, it was an accident caused by her overwhelming grief, and she quickly gave it up when realized the truth even though it meant losing Vision(again) and her kids. Whereas Strange did all those reality bending things (including memory-wiping the whole entire universe) on purpose.

Looks promising, but I still can't get over how weird Elrond looks with short hair. Just give him a wig for Eru's sake!

Males elves with short hair just looks wrong. Elrond looks ridiculous.

The next Poirot should hopefully be Cards on the Table or The ABC Murders. But rooting for Cards. It's the best Poirot story.
If they continue the franchise they'll probably do The Murder of Roger Ackroyd since that one is so highly regarded. I am hoping for Lord Edgware Dies myself.

I think the obvious choice is to do a Founders era prequel. It's still got familiar names and Hogwarts obviously, but without the attachment to the HP era characters. Slytherine himself is interesting enough to be a great antagonist without it being a retread of Grindelwald or Voldemort. Plus there's a lot more freedom since so little detail is actually known beyond the broadest strokes.
