Jesus yet another adaptation of 倚天屠龍記. Each new version gets progressively worse. This looks like a parody.

If The Batman opens under $125m I'd consider that a huge disappointment. Should easily do $150m+ OW with the amount of hype that it has. March record definitely within reach with good reviews and WoM.

I mean, seriously? Don't you find it strange that these leaks happened only to Marvel proprieties? WB has a new huge film in the The Batman and no major leaks. And supposedly Marvel tests inhouse. I think it's a new form of marketing and it's working for them. Dr Strange is following the same pattern
The Batman already had major leaks including the 3rd act. WW1984 full plot leaked about a year before release. DC has massive leaks all the time. These things happen because these franchises have rabid fanbases.

I guess that's Galadriel's voice? Sounds too young but then again no one can compare with Cate's powerful voice. I have low expectations after WoT but I really hope this is at least decent.

Just saw an ad for this on the MNF playoff game, so marketing might be ramping up (at least on traditional avenues).
(*cue cries of "there was no advertising" in a few weeks time...*)
This is running ads nonstop in Times Square. They're trying.

Just realized now that there's nothing else to track until either Uncharted puts up sales (should be sometime in January hopefully?) or when Moonfall/Jackass comes out. I know there's like some rando movie called Redeeming Love and that King's Daughter thing with Pierce Brosnan, but...come on. So um...you guys got any advice on how I should spend my evenings now?
AO3 obviously

France is now making unvax people to be totally unable to enter in a theater (and other indoors places).
Curious if something similar can happen in US to avoid bigger problems.
It's been required for NYC since September.

They're gonna try to get Andrew Garfield to shoot a post credit scene.

How come? What is bringing down your interest?
Well firstly the severe lack of Nirvana.
But actually the action doesn't look good(especially the hand-to-hand), and I'm not a huge fan of the Court of Owls storyline which this seems to be leading to.

The more trailers they release the less interested I am in this movie. I'll still watch it in theaters, but I'm not nearly as hyped as I was when the first trailer came out.

So... while we're waiting for numbers...
Am I the only one that hates Toby Maguire and thinks Raimi botched the relationship between Spidey and MJ?
Nope, not the only one. Him and MJ gave me 90210 vibes every time they were in a scene together. Unbearable.

Movie was good, not great. Plot mechanics were way too stupid, but emotional beats worked so well that I'm almost able to over look it. My main takeaway from this movie is what a huge wasted opportunity the ASM series was. Never cared about his movies before, but this time it really highlights how great Andrew Garfield could have been. Honestly just make him the Spider-man of the Venomverse and give the man another shot. He deserves it.
Upper mid-tier MCU. Not my favorite outing of the year, but I will watch again on Sunday before I decide my final ranking.

Since we are doing this:
ITSV
FFH
HC
1
2
TASM
3
TASM2
Top 6 are good movies, 3 is a total mess but still entertaining, TASM2 was the one I found really forgettable other than a couple scenes.
I would switch HC and FFH but this is pretty much my ranking as well. ITSV remains the best, curious to see where NWH lands on my list since I really can't stand Tobey.

Andrew's version just comes off as an entitled jackass. He lets the bodega owner get robbed, immediately goes back on his promise to Captain Stacy, basically stalks Gwen in part 2, is mean to Aunt May, etc etc.

Remember the rumor that one of the post credit sequences would be divisive with fans?
That's the other one, if leaks are correct it will definitely be divisive among certain fans.

SHOCKINGLY…. Nat and Steve and Sam do not live together in this version. They lived together in my original version. But I restarted the game once I got a new Interior Detractor expansion pack. And that storyline got crazy wild, so I just went with it.
The big issue is that the Sims did not allow for polyamory. So whenever I have the three of them live together they always end up fighting with each other. That’s why I moved Peggy in. And then Peggy/Nat and Sam/Steve dated.
But Sam and Steve are married and live on a farm in Beverly Hills with their first kid (an OC) and Teddy who they “adopted” from Wanda.
(I made Wanda as a single mom raising Teddy, Billy, and Tommy, for the too many toddlers challenge. And then the second I finished it, I got Teddy out of there because that scenario was a complete nightmare. Poor Wanda was just so exhausted by the end of it!!!)
That reminds me, Cap are you still working on your Steve/Sersi fic? I'm really curious to read it.

Has to be the Lincoln Square IMAX.
Oh it definitely is. $21.5 for matinee, $27 for evening. Over 400 seats. Only the 1:30 AM show still has front rows and sides available.

It's strange to claim that audiences are less demanding than ever. If anything audiences are more demanding than ever because there are so many entertainment options available, so movies need to make a compelling case to the general public why they should allocate their limited time and resources to go watch something in theaters. Certain genres just are not worth the expense in most people's minds. Studios and chains really need to start lowering ticket prices for dramas/non IPs if they really want people to come back to them.
Also I find all this hand wringing over WSS extremely ironic since it is literally a remake of a movie adaptation of Broadway show based on Romeo and Juliet. It's about as creatively derivative as they can possibly come no matter how technically brilliant it was made.

Even with good WoM I'm not sure how good the legs will be. This is definitely not a feel-good holiday movie, not sure how many people are eager to watch a tragic love story during Christmas.

Also, this may be more of a superhero thing than just an MCU thing. At which point there's even less that can be done.
At this point I am fulling expecting Turning Red to be banned for being 'insulting', The Batman for depicting police corruption/too much violence, MoM for the supernatural elements, Thor 4 and FB3 for LGBTQ elements, Aquaman 2 because someone in the main cast or James Wan said something against the CCP in the past, etc etc etc. The only franchises that will be released in a timely manner will probably be Dune and SW.
I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be shocked in the least if this is what happens.

Well Poirot was a WWI refuge to England so I hope this is a roundabout way to setup The Mysterious Affair at Style as the next movie.
