You know whats more funny. After the insane ow when every cameron hater was mocking avatar/cameron fans. And after they realized that eg wont beat avatar they all disappeard ( except cdsacken, he was holding the ground). Then after feige and disney announced a re-release suddenly all the mcu hype fans appeard again wirh a big mouth. You see the difference? Avatar fans holding their ground no matter what. Those are real fans and not those wannabe hypetrain fans.
You do have a good point about Cameron fans, though imo it is kind of a double-edged sword. Their fan craziness is permanent while those Marvel fans were temporary. But I do admire the passion.

@Charlie Jatinder we are hooked to your magic, charlie!!! give us numbers!!!!
Charlie is actually from the future. He could give us the exact numbers whenever he wants, but prefers to lead us on and think he just has access to some data that he extrapolates from.

Glad to see no freak outs. Even this number gets it to Avatar, though surely it will be higher. Watch actuals increase by like $5 million lol. That sounds like a joke and kind of is, but with how the actuals increase keeps going up every weekend, it would not be the most shocking thing ever. Though still pretty crazy.

For Marvel fans it’s constant fun with an occasional OH SHIT. For Cameron fans it’s kind of boring and a long wait but eventually there is a huge payoff to it all. Very different, just like Endgame and Avatar’s runs...

Endgame also has the dubious record of worst legs for a $300M+ opener, every dollar it makes is just adding to the “highest grossing disappointment” column. Pretty sad when you think about it. I was already feeling bad for MCU fans and now they’re going to get beaten twice, first when Endgame failed to take WW #1 without #FudgeGame, and they’re gonna lose again (for good) when Avatar is re-released. Let’s all make sure to be understanding in this difficult time for them.
You failed to acknowledge that it also has the worst legs for a $350M+ opener. #Flopgame

Obvious trolling should be reported but I'm not gonna.
It is trolling, but I don’t really get the point. Are we not supposed to talk about how Endgame is an inch away from being the highest-grossing film of all time? We are comparing its gross to Avatar’s so we know how far it is from the mark. Comparing the movies themselves and their qualities would be inappropriate. Should we just refer to it as the number one spot? Like @nguyenkhoi282 said, it is basically a coded number. How many times have they brought up Endgame in the Avatar 2 thread in a much more inappropriate manner? The only times it was talked about in here inappropriately was due to certain people instigating.

I think there are lots of MCU defenders on the Internet. You can't even criticise FFH that it clearly isn't a over performance at all. Spider-Man 2 adjusted opening weekend will be much bigger than FFH.
You can't criticise Spider-Man otherwise you will be labelled as anti-MCU. Is there a no fine line?
People are celebrating like Spidey is doing wonders. Captain Marvel 6 days total with 3 weekdays was above 180m+.
A lot of your posts are downplaying Spider-Man and then you complain that there are too many MCU defenders even though they are just disputing some weird claims you have made. What are you trying to achieve here?

It wouldn't be a good look from either Disney or Marvel to do a literal public announcement/celebration. I would think Feige is above that kind of pettiness.
Yeah, if it hits it by then I can see him thanking the fans for getting it to that status, but no way they will announce it or make a huge deal about it.

I have no idea what to expect with Endgame this weekend. Based off of the new Friday number and past weekend trends, we should expect $3.7 million to $4.8 million. However, I’ve heard that July 4th causes Saturdays to not jump much. Maybe Endgame, being so late in its run, will not adhere to this rule. $3 million is the floor this weekend, with $5 million being the absolute ceiling. Huge range, I’m expecting something right around $4 million personally, but it could land anywhere in there and I would not be shocked. Well higher end would definitely surprise me, but still. Very unknown and intriguing to watch for sure.

I just can’t.
It’ll pass Avatar and people will still say they don’t think it will pass Avatar. It eventually becomes a paradox and destroys the universe.

I don’t see how it misses when even the very worst case scenario of drops gets it within $5 million of Avatar. Not an absolute lock, but very close to being one. If this weekend goes on the higher end and gets it to like $2.778 billion, game over for sure.

Hopefully Far From Home is the reverse Endgame. Underwhelming opening with fantastic legs.

James Cameron and fantastic exchange rates. Name a more iconic duo. Perhaps he knew all along and delayed Avatar 2 for a reason. Great director and secretly a genius economic analyzer.

Assume that it will be $848M after this weekend, what can be expected after next week? And at the end?
I don’t see how it misses Avatar at this point. It could have horrible drops and still come within a few million of that movie, close enough for Disney to give it a nudge. I see it passing it without assistance. Probably will drop harder starting next week, but nothing catastrophic.

$848M after this weekend is still reasonable?
Yes.

It’s great that Charlie is saying it could go up, which tells me it probably won’t end up going down much if at all with actuals, and may end up above $850k. I’m not complaining either way, looking at Endgame’s run I was expecting a decrease today.

Charlie is saying $850 thousand for Endgame, it increased again! A 36% increase. It made around $4.870 million on a weekend with a similar Thursday. That $4.1 million weekend projection is beginning to look conservative imo.

I was thinking about this as well. While I’m sure Sony wants a Spider-Man movie every two years, him having two in one phase is no coincidence. The torch has been passed from Iron Man to Spider-Man.

This article from yesterday morning is saying it got an A CinemaScore. I don’t know if they are correct or not obviously.

Last time Endgame did a Wednesday like that it made $3.725 million on the weekend. While dailies are weird this week, looking at the trend, I would not be at all surprise if it went higher. $3 million is probably the absolute floor for this domestic weekend. I am expecting $4 million+ at this point.

What kind of legs do you guys expect? It has to be at least 2x the 6-day, though I am hoping for more like 2.2x legs because of great word of mouth. Probably making at least $370 million, ceiling maybe Captain Marvel or Age of Ultron numbers. Though the latter would require incredible (spectacular) legs.
