I've been wondering what multiplier effect we may get here. Things really look to be leaning towards a front load. The problem is, there aren't a lot of Valentine's Day debuts on a Wednesday. The most recent one i can find is 2007 Music and Lyrics. Madame Web isn't going to perform exactly like a Valentine's Day RomCom, but, if it does, M&L did $19.1M off of a $4.2M opening day. Seeing the drop off from Wednesday so far is making me wonder how close to that type of performance we might see, and how big a Wednesday we need to keep $30M for the five day in play. If $4M couldn't land $20M, it's hard to see how it could land $30M for MW.
Valentine's Day is such a unique holiday though. I'm not sure of the more analytical types like @M37 have thoughts.
That would be interesting if in fact Valentines day even in Canada we are seeing the slightly more sales-female demo buying tickets for a female featured cast. That drop from Wed to Thurs Fri is certainly interesting. As you say its not a rom com. Have to see how the days go forward, Gotta wonder if the Wed is going to almost be an early WOM as people ask about it as they make their Thurs/Fri/Sat plans.

With how low this weekend is going to be, I'm wondering if it can make some decent noise. When I left, it was getting a very wide release in the region. BOP update doesn't reference it for this weekend, but I know these releases can be a big wildcard on quiet weekends.
Ill take a peek at it.
Quick peek Vancouver has 2 theatres with 3 showings each and Toronto has 4 Theatres looks to be about 2-3 showings a theatre
Count wise for Today? Across both those Looking at 5-25 seats sold approx for Today (Thurs). Looks like possibility might get some decent traffic over the weekend with walkups

The funny thing about Argylle is we saw a teaser of this in 2023 in front of some movie and we thought "hey that looks pretty cool" and then it just kind of went quiet, and Im seeing the odd trailer here and there, but if it hadnt been for that teaser I probably wouldnt have known it existed-so yes from where I am in Canada kind of surprising at the lack of real promotion.

FWIW, took a look at One Love and it doesn't seem to have any showtimes on Tuesday. Not at any of the cities I randomly checked at any rate (and I checked quite a few across the country). Doesn't mean they can't change their minds about it, naturally.
With ISS the only way I even knew it was a thing at all was when I went to the website to check for movies and I was like "Oh okay", Ive seen next to no build for it at all (at least in my experience cant speak for others)

A certain theatre chain just now dropped SOME sales this close to opening. For only a few more theatres. Some are Thursday, some are Friday-but the thing they have in common-its a wasteland. Whether Canadian fans just arent for it, whether its the theatres just not putting any real interest (a lot of just REGULAR screens, not much prestige format).
Its pointless I think for me to try this when its not filing at like T-2/T-1. There are a few movies on the Horizon like Argyle-but they have the infamous "coming soon" description.
Any other Canadian trackers finding similar-maybe you're getting more life out there away from the big city theatres?-

Have to wonder where it came apart here. The trailer I saw as a teaser back in 23 showed a neat idea. Cavill I thought would drive some sales, but wow.
