  1. Don't forget that Tim Burton did his whimsical take on it, and it ended up being successful. Not only that, it's the 1st live action remake from Disney that made a billion and also Tim Burton's highest grossing movie. Now, unfortunately, Burton is box office poison.
  2. Alice 2 was different though at the box office. It came out on the same day that X-Men Apocalypse did, and that ended up being way more successful.
  3. There were definitely a couple of problems regarding it. IT 2's reviews were mixed overall, the runtime was almost 3 hours, the hype for it didn't seem all that big compared to the first. Compared to Joker, where the hype was huge and then the controversies and security issues came in, which also ended up helping the box office and ended up being successful.
  4. Be it today or tomorrow, can someone check on how Zombieland 2 and Joker's doing in terms of tickets?
  5. Curious to see how this movie plays out during the rest of the week. It could possibly be doing DP2/Venom numbers come Friday and the weekend, but probably won't have that strong of a hold compared to Gravity (don't know how much it'd do though now if adjusted for inflation).
  6. Comparisons (multiple ahead): -Venom: 3.73 (October 16th) -Bohemian Rhapsody: 3.35 (November 13th) -Logan: 4.03 (March 14th) -Gravity: 4.00 (October 15th) -Deadpool 2: 5.34 (May 29th) -Justice League: 2.95 (November 28th) These are all around their third week at the BO. The hold this film has so far is insane.
  7. Huh. Looking at these two, Maleficent 2 just dropped its reviews and it's overall mixed reactions all around. People are saying in regards to the film that the writing is the problem with the movie. I still haven't seen a lot in terms of WOM on the movie but it's been getting a lot of talks WW (especially because of Angelina Jolie). Right now the movie's currently at 50% on RT and it's equally Rotten and Fresh with 28 on each side. So, it'll either end up getting more Fresh reviews than Rotten or it'll end up being Rotten again by the time the movie comes out. As for Zombieland 2, it's definitely getting up there in terms of talk and hype, mostly domestically since the film success is mainly here in the US compared to the Overseas market. The embargo lifts tomorrow for Zombieland 2 so we'll see how it is with the Critics. The first one did extremely well, so the 2nd one could either be on-par or do terribly.
  8. Basically what I mean by something Joker related: If something were to happen before Friday this week and involve Joker, then it could be going back to #1. And I don't mean violently, I mean online. This week in Joker-related stuff, there was mainly the Miley Cyrus IG post and Starbucks secret menu item, and that's been it so far. Last week, SNL did the Joker parody with Sesame Street and it was hilariously good. Also there was Hugh Grant talking about the movie (although his experience wasn't pleasant) and also Pete Davidson mentioning it on SNL. So anything social media and all from this week can cause Joker to hit #1. But for now, it's not going to happen. However, the drop wise may not be a whole lot.
  9. It's either that or something in relation to Joker could cause it to keep it at #1. More on that statement in a moment. Joker's been at #1 for 2 weeks since there wasn't a lot last week in terms of competition (Gemini Man and Addams Family). Now that it has competition with Maleficent 2 (+China release for that film) and also Zombieland 2, it'll either end up taking the #2 or 3 spot.
