American sniper had a major drop in its 3rd weekend too, so TGM is following that trend. -
Currently sitting at 84% verified after 500+ votes.. Slightly better than FB3 and not disastrous like Morbius (71%) but below Uncharted (90%). All of them are critically panned hit.

How can these two marked as rotten by RT? They sound solid. Jun 9, 2022 Admittedly, the story here is pretty thin, but let’s face it, fans don’t go to see these films for the scintillating dialogue. Just finish watching, I thought JWD is a solid entertainment and dinosaur scenes are actually quite an improvement from FK. There are some really dumb and non-sensical moment but if critics can give a pass on F9, I can't understand why the harsh tone to JWD.

I was looking for 200m top for TGM, based on the number I saw with GB:A. But even after the amazing review, I thought this can only go as high as 300m.

Most importantly, did the trailer mis-market this film? To me the misleading marketing is even more hurtful than poor critical reception, So far the praise seem concentrate on chemistry between trio and production value like VFX.

So Universal is wise to drop first reaction online during midnight.... Uncharted also survived the negativity thanks to MCU start, Spiderman, so I believe Star Lord can give the some layer of protection too!

I think at this point it is Jurassic that hope for they can coexist with TGM.

If TGM opened to a $90m on OW, I can imagine there will be some a huge disappointment but now this $90m in 2nd weekend suddenly turn people OMG!!! Amazing how BO worked with just a week difference.
