  1. music video ass movie the form is pretty excellent, but it just feels empty content-wise feels like it plays it way too straight (not sure that makes sense) its fun all the way, but not anything more than that and after a certain point I think I stopped caring about this story the "crazy" scenes didn't feel particularly crazy either even if he does a good job here, I feel like keoghan will regret having passed on gladiator to wave his penis around
  2. has the marketing/oprah explicitly been telling people to buy tickets on Christmas day? is something silly like missing 100 million from a 25 million christmas od possible?
  3. thanks might have to make it a 2010 (and maybe December only) cutoff then just wanted to try an picture what headline oprah's press release might lead with
  4. the box office might be horrible, but the toy situation seems even worse, haven't seen the supermarket I frequent sell any of the Wish toys it filled some shelves with will disney feel any pain from those terrible toy sales, or have they already sold off the rights to the merch? even if they sold the rights, they'll probably get a much worse contract next time around
  5. seems pretty low, is a "highest-grossing day for a movie at under a certain number of theaters" record in the cards? maybe 21st century or post-2010 not just opening day, but day day, dont think too many movies are still making 20 million + any day while being at sub 3.2k
  6. werent the screenings a last-minute thing? is it possible they just forgot to raise the embargo?
  7. at times it felt like it wanted to be something more, to break free from its shackles as genre fiction and become some sort of philosophical moral tale, but though those moments remained moments, they were very clearly there off the top of my head, small parts of the conversation between Snow and his friend on the train dont belong in a dystopian movie about kids killing kids, they belong in something greater and much more ambitious
  8. pretty good but some small character moments made me think this had the potential to be something truly extraordinary if it was more committed to a theme and more fully tied it around its exploration of Snow like the third act, but it really needed an international monologue, the actual hunger games, outside of some moments that got a bit a creative, really didn't do much for me this time around, the pacing a bit awkward at times and the movie sometimes tried a bit too hard I'll have to check out the book
