  9. The black phone is a pretty weird thing to screen at a cinemacon isn't it? Did the reactions to the screening it justify doing one?
  10. Seems like they might be showing the 20 minute preview, the "mind-blowing" one, the make-zoe-zaldana-cry one. Avatar 2 discourse is probably going to be much different after tomorrow morning. These next few hours are probably the last time us avatar shills can even pretend to be underdogs, was fun I gotta say, people prophesying sub 1 billion grosses at the same time I was looking for paths to 4 billion. I've done my shilling and so have many of us, now the time for the movie and disney's marketing team to do their part
  11. So is Elvis going to be what they push for the oscars?
  12. the imdb page says: A doll living in 'Barbieland' is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys. That sounds a bit dangerous, hope it remembers its a kids franchise and does not get involved with any explicitly-sexual-politics

  15. Cronenberg took the stage to present the trailer alongside his Crimes producer Robert Lantos. The filmmaker said it was his first time in Vegas and he thanked Neon for introducing him to Caesars Palace as “it seems an appropriate place to launch our attack on the world with Crimes of the Future on June 3. He explained that he wrote the script more than 20 years ago. He put it away for years until Lantos asked him if he’d read it recently. “I’m sure it’s irrelevant now,” Cronenberg recalled telling the producer with whom he had worked on previous films like Crash. “He said it’s more relevant now than ever.” The Crimes of the Future trailer is not yet available for the public as it will officially roll out next week ahead of its May world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Today’s footage followed an earlier teaser released last week that featured images of body horror that fans of the Canadian director of The Fly, Eastern Promises and Dead Ringers have seen in past works. Crimes is said to be an evolution of Cronenberg’s work that has references to key moments and and scenes from other films. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/neon-cinemacon-2022-presentation-1235135457/
  16. cringe Rest of the remarks It is understood that, when released, Avatar 2 will be offered in a wide variety of formats to support the range of movie theater configurations in the U.S. and around the world, including 3D and 4K and incorporating a high frame rate of 48 fps. In fact, there will be more versions Avatar 2 than any movie “in the history of movies,” asserted John Fithian, president and CEO of the National Association of Theater Owners, at CinemaCon on Tuesday. “We are talking about high resolution, high frame rates, 3D, IMAX, PLF, different sound systems and in 160 different languages. “He is working very closely with our members around the world to show his movie in the best possible way,” he says. “Jim is uniquely driven. He’s brilliant.” On this ambitious plan, Fithian adds, “There may be only a couple hundreds screens in [some of the formats] but he wants [Avatar 2] on those screens. It’s time to make sure your light levels are correct and everything about the picture is correct. We’re excited about it.”
