    I don't think you are giving enough credit to the accomplishment that the Joker box office was! It made a billion dollars despite legitimate media driven controversy about it inciting violence, it was R Rated which means you've cut out a huge part of potential audience, it didn't have some A-Lister/ Heartthrob as the lead actor and was basically a mental health drama instead of a big cgi actionfest and didn't get a china release, hell the first two Holland Spidey movies couldn't make a billion without china and Joker did almost 75 mil above it

    On one hand Sony looks to have a flop on their hands, on the other Holland will probably accept their contract and play spider-man for the forseeable future and doesn't have the leverage to shake them down for more (im assuming thats why he flip flops in the media every week about his future)

    tbf the movie star that can draw audiences by themselves is basically dead, dicaprio or the rock for action movies is the last one. Franchises/IP >>>>> names also its got 7.2 rating on imdb for what its worth

    Manga readers especially in the west HATED the ending, like im talking GoT s8 levels of wtf, i actually don't think a movie adapting the end would do that well

    I don't think any of the remaining arcs are short enough to be done in a movie, mugen train was perfect cause its only like 14 chapters long
