  1. 45% audience were females which means 190m from female audience; now this will do 100m total & 37m from females
  2. Disney+ is not losing money because mcu content as MCU drives subscriptions, it is losing money because of some worthless content that nobody watches & because of higher marketing & other costs.
  3. I won't call MCU hardcore fans who rejected this movie as sexists but most of them I think are insecure of Captain Marvel as these same nerds don't have any problem with other female characters like Shuru, Black Widow & Wanda. Females not giving shit about The Marvels is because Marvel studios didn't give shit about the character after Endgame, they should've released it when there was some interest in this character.
  4. Then explain me how things work. As per a survey around 10% people have subscribed to D+ only because of D+ mcu series and around 40% people have subscribed to D+ because of Marvel content. They will obviously lose subscribers & hence billions of dollars per year if they stop putting new MCU content to D+ & this is how you determine a MCU project worth.
  5. Their hardcore fans(most of them) are highly insecure of Captain Marvel & GA especially females no longer care about this character as they are too late to party(this movie should've been released in 2022 when character was fresh in the minds of female audiences). So rejection was imminent.
  6. Obviously Disney will pay to itself as they have their own streaming service now.
  7. I'm the only one in this entire forum who said that The Marvels could do less than 300m WW as I knew there are multiple factors working against this movie.
  8. How would you determine worth of a MCU project to D+? If they stop putting new marvel content on D+ they will face cancellations of D+ subscriptions & so they'll lose money & that's how you determine worth of a MCU project to D+.
  9. From deadline. WK was worth 350m to D+, TV &, pVOD & so other 2022 MCU releases. Also price of D+ have increased by 100% so I don't know how much each MCU movie is worth now to D+, may be 250m to D+ alone & another 150m to TV & pVOD.
  10. Do you know how many cancellations D+ will face if they stop putting new Marvel content on D+? Atleast 25m subscriptions WW, which means annual loss of $2B. With 5-6 MCU releases per year each project is worth 200m to D+ alone. Yes The Marvels is theatrical bomb but it still won't lose money.
  11. There is no Rule of thumb. That 2.5x formula is for a blockbuster movie whose marketing budget is 150m but if studios reduces marketing budget then obviously break even point will be also decrease. Also when it is worth 350m to D+, TV & digital & it's total cost is 300m then explain how it would lose money if it's P&A budget is just 75m?
  12. Each marvel movie is worth $350m to D+, TV & pVOD, that alone will recover it's total cost of $300m. If Ant-Man 3 with 150m marketing budget needed 500m to break even then The Marvels with 75m P&A budget would need 170m less than Ant-Man3 WW to break even, something around 330m. But 75m is just my guess.
  13. No need to watch anything. People have successfully spread this misinformation & destroyed it's box office. Marvel seriously needed someone like James Gunn to debunk all misinformation but unfortunately they're lazy & they don't even care.
  14. Disney recent quarter earning report of july-september says that they have reduced marketing budget of future releases after Haunted Mansion. Marketing of The Marvels started in October and it seems like they've spent less in marketing & so I think its P&A budget should be half or less than half of Ant-Man3(75m or less). If thats the case then it won't lose much money, lets see if trades say anything about its P&A budget.
  15. They should've made it but they should've released it directly on D+. The entire point of this movie was to establish that Carol needs help and support & she doesn't need to carry weight of the world alone; and to establish a new spoiler team. They could have done all these with a D+ special movie. It would've served the purpose of the movie & also prevented them from embarrassment
  16. They made some blunders with the character. They gave her just 5 min screentime in Endgame & after that they just forgot about her for 4.5 years.
  17. The problem is if their movie has good story then it doesn't have a fun elements eg. Eternals and if movie is fun then it doesn't a good story eg. The Marvels. Then there is a movie which neither has good story nor has fun elements eg. L&T. So they all getting bad score
  18. I'm talking about comics. No one knows what would happen in future in MCU. But they are(not were) definitely trying to set up Ms. Marvel as new future face of the MCU.
  19. Captain Marvel is not Z-lister in comics. She is current leader of Avengers in comics. But in MCU they treated her badly & this is the result.
  20. Why do you think females aren't much interested in The Marvels? Is it because females don't like pandering, or is it because Brie Larson and Captain Marvel are not very popular among females, or is it because trailers weren't attractive, or is it because the title change from Captain Marvel to The Marvels caused a brand recognition problem, or is it a combination of all these factors?
