The marvels with captain Marvel as lead did 200m, how much do you think Avengers with Captain Marvel as lead would make at box office? I would say 600-800m if they do some marketing gimmicks. And definitely box office of this saga shows that female lead movies flopping at box office. So I'm just saying check your expectations as there is no clarity about the lead of Avengers yet.

I can't unsee what I'm seeing. The MCU fandom is heavily divided, and large numbers of MCU fans can't stand Captain Marvel. I saw a Reddit post on Marvel Studios that asked a question: Will you watch The Marvels in theaters? 95% of replies were "no," and what was interesting was that there were tons of upvotes on replies like this—I might not even watch it for free on D+. So a large number of MCU fans can't stand Captain Marvel for whatever reason. So people need to check expectations for the next Avengers movies, as there is still no clarity about the lead in these movies.

In this saga, in every team-up movie or show (except GOTG3, as it was the original Infinity Saga franchise with a lead still alive), the lead is a female. Eternals, What if, The Marvels, and the upcoming F4 Thunderbolts Young Avengers are also going to be female-led movies. Out of these Eternals, what if and the Marvels already flopped? So the question is: will this trend of "female leads for team-up movies" continue with Avengers movies, or are they going to be exceptions? If the leads of the next two Avengers movies are female, then box office will be much lower than what you're expecting, and even with female leads, box office will vary depending on whether the lead will be Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel or Wanda/Black Panther.

This shows that Scoopers like MTTSH are just playing with the emotions of some MCU fans by giving fake scoops. If people still believe such clowns then I don't know what to say about them.

He was referring to Thor4, Ant-Man3, and may be even MoM, not The Marvels, when he said "too many sequels." He considers Captain Marvel (I don't know if he would still consider her a flagship character after this disaster at box office) a flagship Marvel character; she is one of the four Marvel characters present on his Twitter header. He must be very disappointed with the result, so it is not surprising that he only talked about The Marvels flopping but not Haunted Mansion or The Wish.

And why were you expecting him to say that people weren't interested in Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, and that's why the movie flopped? If he had said that, then the question would have arisen: if people aren't interested in Ms. Marvel, then why is she the lead of the Young Avengers? And a question might arise in the future: if people aren't interested in Captain Marvel, then why is she the lead of the Avengers? So he couldn't say what you're expecting him to say.

No I'm not a Kamala fan, she is annoying & one of the reason why The Marvels flopped hard but we can't unsee how desperate Feige/marvel is to push this kid character as new face of MCU. So don't be surprised if what I said actually happens.

I won't be surprised if she is the central character in Secret Wars. Marvel Studios/Disney is desperate to make her popular and create a new spider-man type character. If they want this to happen then it won't be possible with movies like The Marvels which almost nobody want to watch, they would like to put her as central character in Avengers storyline. The character wears Quantum band & it was key weapon against Kang in comics; Rick Jones in comics wear that band to defeat immortus(Kang Future self) & Kang & he was central character in that storyline. Marvel/Feige is heavily pushing this character, from Ms. Marvel to The Marvels to zombies to Young Avengers & next could be Secret Wars, so I can see this happening.

My guess here though I can't prove it: Captain Marvel was going to be the lead of Kang Dynasty; they saw The Marvels box office & realizes that Kang Dynasty will flop even harder than the marvels as they've totally messed up the character, so they're changing the script & so Destin Daniel stepped down as Brie Larson is no longer the lead & now the news that MW is writing the new script. This could be a good news for MCU fans.

Lack of interest (apathy) in the lead character is the main reason why this flopped. Lack of interest could be for different reasons, like not having an image of a big character, hate for the character among the fandom, not being an established character, the first movie being medicore, etc.

There were multiple reasons for this epic bomb, but the main reason was apathy towards the lead character. The movie made $1.5m in India; this is just embarrassing and horrible. Marvel Studios did nothing to establish Captain Marvel in the MCU; she had little to no interactions with the OG Avengers, and after Endgame, they sidelined the character. Instead of making her second movie good, they made it even worse than the first one. She'll never be acceptable to the audience now, as they missed the train three times now: Captain Marvel, then Endgame, and now The Marvels. If she is the lead character in the next Avengers movie, then their best option would be to hide this, and they will have to use other gimmicks to make them watch Avengers. If she isn't the lead, then they better tell their fans who the lead is, as it would only help them in increasing overall interest in the MCU.

If Avengers KD or SW is starring Brie Larson & if they want movie to do respectable 350m WW opening & 700-750m total at box office on a 350m budget then this is my advice to Marvel Studios- 1. Don't tell mcu fans who is the lead in Avengers & who's leading the Avengers. 2. Release misleading poster: put Spider-Man, Doctor Strange & Captain America at forefront of Avengers poster & mislead the fans. 3. Only show 1 or 2 seconds of Captain Marvel footage in Avengers trailer & again mislead the fans. They released The Marvels trailer focusing on Ms. Marvel & Monica but it didn't work because mcu fans already knew The Marvels is Captain Marvel sequel but for the Avengers such a trailer could work. 4. Use twitter infuencers/scoopers like RPK & MTTSH & spread rumours before the movie that Spider-Man is the lead or Doctor Strange is the lead of KD. In my personal view a large section of mcu fans deserve to be tricked & fooled again & again(unfortunalely this includes female audience also), so this should be their strategy if Brie Larson is the lead in either of the Avengers movies.I It won't be possible to fully trick them as some of these fans are really oversmart but a respectable 700m is possible with all these gimmicks. I really doubt that she will be the lead of Avengers(as her movie not even grossing 100m in US) but if she is(in their storyline & in their contract) then this is their best option.

It makes no sense to compare Barbie with The Marvels. The only thing common between those 2 movies is that main lead of both these movies is a female. Barbie is a much much bigger brand WW compare to Captain Marvel. We can compare Barbie brand with Spider-man. There are lot of other factors which attracts men more to someone like Barbie than Captain Marvel such as attractive costumes that Barbie wear.

She says at the end of the movie that she'll stay on earth up until Monica comes back & Monica is not coming back before Secret Wars. So she'll in Kang Dynasty & will meet Monica during events of Secret Wars which would involve Fox X2 universe & incursion.

@fede75 Carol returned to earth & she is an Avenger & at the end of the movie she said she'll stay on earth up until Monica comes back; so she'll be in next Avengers movie.

As I said a group of people have successfully turned up a lot of people around the world against Brie Larson by continuos hate campaign. Also a lot of people don't differentiate between actor & character & if they hate character(because of any reason) they start hating the actor.
